Absolutely beautiful fish and chips with mushy peas , had the takeaway special and it was a great price .
The chip shop is really clean and the staff are lovely . I've been using this chippy for just over a year and never had a bad meal . Definitely 5 stars ????
Fish & chips beside the seaside - a law for those visiting our wonderful coastline. And I love a f&c dinner.
Sorry to say our haddock and chips were pretty awful. Not badly priced ~£16 for two freshly cooked, about a 10 min wait, haddock/chips but as we ate them away from the takeaway, the oil literally dripped, sorry poured, out of them.
The congealed fat in the bottom made us both rather queasy.
Avoid.
Chips and cheese...? Wheres the cheese? Waited 20 minutes for them to cook & we put them in the bin, chips were dry and tasteless and hardly any cheese. Not that cheap either.
Edit in response to the aggressive owner... 1. your staff didn't weigh it, i stood and saw her take it out of the box. 2. I mean it isn't cheap as in that's not an excuse to be so bloody tight and 3. Your previous passive aggressive comments to other reviewers says fresh chips never take longer than 7 mins.
Lovely fish n chips!
The place (plaice ????) itself doesn't do the food any favours and the surroundings are not very welcoming, but all the food we ordered was one of the best around and we have chipshop take away at least once a week, so we could all tell the difference.
A large menu with lots of options and extras, and this is our 3rd order from them.
Our cod and chips (2 for £16) was freshly cooked and was absolutely delicious. I had no objection to eating them out of a cardboard box in the restaurant as we would have eaten them that way on the beach if it wasn’t blowing a hooley outside.
I haven’t marked the restaurant for atmosphere - it’s a chippie, but it was very clean and I’d gladly go there again if I was in the vicinity.
We’ve just had what has to be the nicest fish in chips we’ve had for ages! Beautifully cooked and tasty cod and really lovely chips. Kiddo said her cheesy chips were nice too! Thank you ????
Nice food 2 fish and chips for 16.00 ,staff very friendly
Not a good experience here. The fish was fresh but the batter and chips were poor quality, very oily and tasteless. The youth serving was surly and unhelpful. No plates, cutlery or cups just a tray and one piece of paper and wooden take away forks. Few tables available needed cleaning. Avoid!
