What a beautiful country pub. Open fire and wonderful atmosphere. Matt the manager gave us a wonderful welcome and we only popped in for a drink but saw the food coming out and it looked too good not to order some.
The food was phenomenal! Huge portions and very good value. We will definitely be returning when on holiday in the area again.
Once in a while you have a surprise and this was one of those occasions.
It’s one of the best Sunday lunch we have had for a very long time.
Looked on Google maps and found the the pub local to us where we were staying.
Callled in without a reservation but still managed to get us in 2 adults and a dog they could not be more welcoming I don’t think we have met anyone more accommodating. Before we ordered food a fresh bowl of water and treats for our dog.
The food was wonderful so fresh and tasty the manager was easy to talk to and so chatty without being over powering or intrusive.
We will be back !
Worth the trip down a single track road to find this gem of a place. Really good food, extensive ‘by the glass’ wine list and great prices. Excellent service too.
Fairly full on a Tuesday lunchtime says it all really.
You will probably need a Sat Nav to find this place, slightly off the beaten track. Appeared to be well attended by locals mid week, and the restaurant also seems to be popular
The menu appears to be a bit too extensive, would prefer a shorter menu and more attention paid to each dish
Nice ‘snug bar’ out the back which leads into a light conservatory, garden also appears to be well kept and would be a nice place to sit in the Sun
Lovely food, good prices. Really cosy, friendly pub.
Dog friendly.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. Staff are lovely.
How could you not like a country pub with a real dog bust on the wall wearing a muffler?
Joking aside some of the best quality food out there with awesome settings in a country pub.
Lovely for a cold drink in the summer also due to the location.
Will return.
What a Fabulous Pub.
The Attention to detail was very very good. Food OK, (Lunch Menu) can't Rave about it tbh but it was a set price for Starters & Mains & was of all high Quality and Value for Money.
Lunch Menu, which is what they intend for the Locals to swing by & enjoy.
I get it! Maybe an alternative 'A La Carte' Menu could be arranged with just a few Spectacular dishes available (Fish & Steak for example) so people could or could not choose from and pay the extra for. I get it that you may think you could then be left with leftover produce not sold so would effect your bottom line financially, BUT if not then used...you then have the option of just putting it into your 'Pie of the Day'
Lovely Atmosphere, Bar Manager very attentive and Great Service throughout.
Could have done without the initial Wecoming Commitee of a Barking, Growling Jack Russell dog on the Balcony. Yup...NOT a Good look, regardless of the sign warning you of this outside.
Fast, friendly service, good portions and prices! Would recommend if you're wanting a spacious, traditional pub with a generous outside seating area!
