A out of the way bar-restaurant that is worth the trip. This newly renovated building with the friendliest staff is a delicious place for breakfast. Their breakfast bowls are delicious and the omelettes never fail. Even the price is reasonable.
Great grilled tenderloin.
Also, great big Mac burger.
Love the pickles served with sandwiches too. 12-24-2023 had lunch there again, it was still great sandwiches. Mozzarella sticks are really good.
Probably the best place to eat in Carthage. The breakfast is good. When we had lunch there, it was okay. I had the chicken sandwich, and it wasn't seasoned. The portions are large and filling. The folks I was with really enjoyed their burgers.
My specialty burger was absolutely delicious. It had a garlic aioli sauce that was wonderful. Unfortunately, my French fries were cold and underdone, even though I asked for them extra-crispy. My lemon pudding cake dessert was pretty good. The waitress was friendly, professional, and efficient, even though we had a large group. A nice bar with specialty drinks that sounded great, even though I didn't have any. Plenty of parking and tables. Not a place for a quiet or private conversation, but we were in a large group, so that was fine. This is definitely one of the better restaurants in the area.
Its a bar so that is your atmosphere when we went there were more families than anything making it a nice experience. I just dont like that the servers ignore you since their busy. Stop, apologize, aknowledge the people that you make your money off of and then keep going but I waited 20 minutes to ask for a menu since we had dogs and were outside and then another 20 mintues to have my order taken and when i asked how much longer it would be she had forgotten to send my order to the kitchen but didnt have the guts to say it to me. Food was awesome kitchen staff dont know what goes on back there but the food is harmony.
We went there today- totally worth it! First, the waitress was super friendly. The choices big! We didn’t wait long for the food. Everything tasted sooo good! The appetizers were gone in a bink ( ok, it was six of us…): Yummy mozarellasticks and onionrings…

1st visit-The menu has some excellent choices to choose from. Very friendly, clean atmosphere. The staff were on their feet. Our drinks never went empty. The food was AMAZING!
2nd visit- Super Friendly Staff, we just swung in for a quick drink & bite. We got a double cheeseburger, fried pickles & BLT! Delicious! The only reason why I gave service a 4 ☆ is because my restroom stall had no TP yeeks thankfully the other stall did!
The fried pickles are homemade and breaded to perfection. The fried mushrooms are fantastically hand breaded portobellos. All of our food was delicious and spot on. Our server went above and beyond. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend when in the Carthage, IL area.
