Owning my own restaurant myself I like to try different places to eat and this place did not disappoint! I am not much for breakfast food and you can get lunch or dinner at 9 in the morning if you want! The food was on point. The service was absolutely phenomenal. While we waited for food The train went by it was pretty neat. 10/10 recommend!
A hidden historic gem in the area it is popular for brunch. The stacks of pancakes looked delicious.
We had lunch. A Caboose burger with bacon and a side of the classic massive onion rings. My friend had the pattymelt with fries. Delicious food, but both the fries and onion rings were a bit undercooked and not crispy, and the burgers a bit over.
Enthusiastic and friendly atmosphere. And of course don't miss when at some point the model train goes around the dining room.
Good value for the food as well. It would be a 5 if the cooking was a bit more consistent.
As you can see in my photos, there is much more bun than there is burger.
A true, "Where's the beef?", moment.
The bun was actually really good, nicely toasted.
The 7 oz hockey puck was overcooked and underseasoned.
The cheese, olives, and other veggies were surprisingly really good.
I opted for some mayo, and that actually made the charred cookie cutter meat disc more palatable.
I scheduled lunch with a friend of mine and we drove for an hour just to come get lunch at thIs highly recommended restaurant.
I had the Gourmet Burger...gourmet what?
These pre-made patties lack inspiration and creativity.
My buddy ordered the Mushroom Burger, and he was as let down as I was.
The seasoned fries were okay, but overcooked.
I like crunchy fries, but these were chip a tooth ridiculous crunchy.
I asked the waitstaff for some sour cream for the fries, and they tasted much better.
I also used an exorbitant amount of ketchup after running out of sour cream.
Anyway, my recommendation is to stay away from this place if you can.
I won't be back, and neither will my buddy.
Kudos to Madison (sp?) for doing a great job running around and making sure that everybody in the restaurant was okay.
Breakfast in the afternoon along the way to my weekend adventure. Not too busy at the time (although traffic outside was with people going north). Good service. Relaxed atmosphere. I liked dining at an old train depot with pictures of trains on the wall because trains are one of my favorite things!
The biggest hand dipped onion rings I have ever seen !!! My bacon cheeseburger was the best. Kudos to the chef
Stopped in many empty tables was told it was a long wait the kitchen was behind. Another couple came in and told the same. Thing as we waited the foul mouth cook and all his complaints was frantic I co u ld see him thru server window. Then the second couple got seated when we were first. So we left went to Jimmy's road house great comfort in service and atmosphere
Food was all top shelf other than the deep fried mushrooms. Service was ok. Had to wait a long time to have beverages refilled and for our server to come around to see if we needed anything after we got our food. No better place to get onion rings and the deserts are all homemade.
Small town restaurant vibes in a small town, perfect fit. Wait staff was a little inattentive and forgot some items that were ordered. Also clearly on the menu but abnormal is no sides WITH dishes, fries and whatnot need to be order separate.
-Fench Dip is a bit odd on sourdough, but that is on us as the menu stated as much.
-Railroad Ruben could use double the suaerkraut.
-kids spaghetti comes pre-cut which seems odd. So, there is no spinning the noodles on a fork.
