Very nice place. The building is over 100 years old and has a nice old world charm. The food was very good. They are known for their steaks and have some specials usually posted on the board. The ribeye was really good with the coffee crust. The glazed salmon was also very good. The fried mushrooms appetizer was excellent.
The shrimp scampi fettuccine has very nice garlic butter wine sauce. Service was quick and our waiter was very attentive.
The food is always great here. Today we chose to sit outside for a different atmosphere. We weren't disappointed! We just got burgers today but they were excellent.
I took my parents to Stockyard today and it reminded us of a Superclub up north in Wisconsin. The food was really good we had the New York Strip which was done perfect and the Fried Shrimp which was golden brown and delicious. The waiter Boston was excellent and the owner from Michigan stopped by our table twice once before meal and gave us the history of restaurant and then after we were done eating. We thought that was really cool of him. I highly recommend this Steakhouse anytime in the area. Deland is a short drive from Orlando area and is a charming little town.
All in all, it's just a regular dining experience. Boom boom shrimp appetizer was best. Chicken platter was underwhelming. Salmon was pretty good. Sides were all good as well, but not great or a wow. I would only recommend getting a steak if you eat here. Not much attention is paid to anything else. Perhaps the dessert, but we forgot to order some before leaving. Inside is a bit stuffy, and we left smelling of the kitchen. I'd sit outside if I returned. Kids cheeseburger was very impressive. A proper Stella draft was $6.
After telling waiter how important tender is to me with tenderloin, he talked me into the 11 oz and hubby 7 oz. Both med rare. Mine was fairly tough and hubby's was crazy tender. Great fried pickles. He explained mine away by saying he didn't use seasoning because of my paprika allergy but earlier discussion was to ask him twice to please check the regular seasoning to see if ingredients showed paprika (it didn't...he was forced to check it after the fact because my gracious hubby switched steaks with me). I got a strong mcp vibe from him from the get go and my hubby and son later admitted they saw it too. It was 4:00 on a Friday so not at all busy. He saw us take home the tough steak almost untouched and never offered a substitute or to credit bill in any way.
We got the boom boom shrimp, mahi mahi, mushroom and potato skins appetizers. Large servings, very friendly and fast service.
My mahi fillet was really small for 27$. It was decent, but my issue was with a family members fillet and how the waitress handled it. Feb 5th I was there. Fillet temp is medium. Came out Mid well-done. On top of that it was a thin cut. That's okay to use thin cuts for mediums but you have to cook it accordingly.
Waitress said thats how they do "their mediums". Stupid thing to say because I know the chef/cook wouldn't be okay with that statement.
She offered another one but it was late meal already. Not her fault. Just train these kids better. They think this place is high tier dining but don't know how to serve guest in that type of environment. Look at peoples steaks when they cut into them and realize something's off.
My husband and I have been here twice. Last night we went there and had steak and the French dip. We tried the onion ring loaf which was so good, but is a lot of food for two people. Their sweet potato fries are delicious and I was impressed with their side salad. I asked for their drink menu and they brought me a wine list that also had cocktails at the bottom. I ordered a Tito's Moscow mule, which did not disappoint. We originally went here because we had a gift card, but will definitely be back!
