Unbelievably difficult to get a face to face appointment. Telephone appointment took weeks, to discuss a foot issue the doctor could not see over the phone! . Had to demand an appointment and blood tests. Paid to go private. The worst thing is that the public have to queue before the place opens to be screened by reception and discuss their most private details over an amplified speaker system before being assessed by a receptionist and told they cannot have a doctor's appointment for weeks. Trying to get a doctor's appointment is more difficult than winning the lottery. An absolute embarrassment to the medical profession.
Whilst I can understand frustrations of people trying to get appointments the surgery always does the best with what they can ! With property developers building thousands of homes with no intention or help from the government to expand or add another practice they remain to do what they can. Thank god for the NHS and the work that they do ! Got a call back and a phone appointment and love the call back system to not go mad listening to hold music !
I needed an urgent appt for my son but was told there weren't any slots available due to being fully booked. We've been registered at this surgery for 2 years and never required a same day appt (my son is rarely poorly). Instead, had to travel 12 miles and wait 3 hours at a walk in centre to only be prescribed a course of antibiotics, which a GP could have easily prescribed in seconds. Why we couldn't have been tagged on to the end of the day is beyond me. It's not the reception's team fault, they're friendly and do their best to help, however, we are a family who only use the surgery a handful of times per year. Surely they could be more accommodating? Management needs to look at improving medical staff availability instead of offering limited telephone appointments via the NHS app at 8am, and those are gobbled immediately.
Reception staff are generally rude, the service is poor, patient welfare is not a priority, can never get an appointment in a reasonable time frame. My GP didn't even know my medical situation until he read my notes, on the telephone appointment we had which was four weeks too late!
Staff always pleasant, but very disheartened to hear 3 weeks after a blood test result that required clinical intervention, that I am still over 700th on the waiting list for an appointment. Not sure this is safe practice, but they are still registering new patients????
Sadly, after explaining to the receptionist a problem I’ve had for the past two weeks. They were only able to book a telephone call with a GP In two weeks time. Otherwise I was told to phone Stamford or Peterborough minor injuries. I did this and as you might expect, Stamford said ‘we don’t deal with your type of problem, we’re more, breaks, burns etc’. Even they queried why I was told to phone.
Isn’t it about time that The Deeping Practise started catering for the community. Maybe employ more Dr’s, or have Dr’s on at weekends dealing with routine illnesses. Patients are told to wait two weeks just for a phone call. Or they pass the buck and tell you to phone elsewhere (111) or go to A and E if things get worse in the meantime.
This just clogs up the system and it isn’t what A and E and minor injuries are intended for. I am aware of other local people who have had exactly the same experience lately of being told to phone elsewhere, when it’s a Dr they really need to see.
I don’t mean to moan, but I don’t feel that the practice is fit for the local communities needs and requirements. Please start doing the job you are paid for - seeing patients in a timely manner. Two weeks just for a phone call is not good enough in my opinion.
Excellent Customer and Patient Service with a Smile and Conversation. Lovely atmosphere. There is a Private Councilling and Personal Consultation room if wanted to have a chat in Private. Very Good Medication Dispensary. They are also very Knowledgeable about Medical issues. Very Relaxing place to visit at the Deeping's Practice, Godsey Lane, Market Deeping. Very disappointed asked for a repeat sick note for my son on Friday repeated this on Monday I have called twice and taken my son in twice to be told the request is there but still with the dr
This has caused extra stress on my son and myself as unable to to pass on a sick note to his employer.
4 days off now will this be done today
