The best cheese and ham toasty I've ever had! When we arrived we were directed to the secure bike shed to lock our bikes up. The interior is bright, fashionable and the staff are welcoming. The menu is full of homemade dishes and I even had a homemade cordial to drink. Would totally recommend to any passing cyclists, walkers or anyone looking for a tasty lunch.
Really a great place to stop by, especially when cycling. Well done to the owner and I hope you continue to build a nice independent business. Coffee is right on the money.
Excellent food in a casual atmosphere. Can heartily recommend the coffee; espresso was delish and served in a hot cup. Lunch was a toasted ham and cheese sandwich on sourdough with salad, it was inexpensive and thoughtfully put together with quality ingredients.
We enjoyed all of this so much we went to one of the tasting dinners in the evening. This was excellent value, very tasty and included some interesting information about where all the food and drink had come from.
The garden has storage for bikes and is pleasant both during the day and in the evening. An excellent stop if you're cycling in the area.
I havent mentioned the cakes, it would be best to find out about these first hand.
Top location.
Absolutely loved this place. Log burner, delicious fresh food, local beer and a great selection of carefully chosen wines. There was a really lovely atmosphere at this pub, we didn’t want to leave! Theo and and Boris the owners were really welcoming and helpful. Can’t fault it. Will definitely return! 5/5

Probably the best bacon sandwich I’ve ever had. Great sourdough bread, super tasty, sweet cured, thick cut bacon and green stuff.
Hardly any queue and £10 for a great sandwich, v good flapjack, coffee, porridge and a banana? Bargain.
Delicious home made food, alongside a well chosen and interesting selection of wine and beer. All very reasonably priced. Fantastic coffee and delicious home made cakes and buns. The breakfast muffin and a flat white hit the spot for breakfast! The Cyclist is Scandinavian cool, whilst also feeling friendly, warm and local. Would recommend, and will definitely be going back!
A huge thank-you to Theo and his team at The Cyclist. Held my partner's surprise party here last weekend. Not only did Theo keep in touch (and reassure me!) with emails regarding the arrangements and proposed menus, but was more than happy to make any adjustments where needed. The food was fabulous and friends are still texting me to say how delicious, varied and interesting the dishes were. The team were attentive and helpful but very modest in their approach. The atmosphere very chilled and easy (for me!)
Would highly recommend others holding any party/function to get in touch with Theo. We all had a great time, thank-you so much!!
If you want a good fry up or a classic pub meal, go elsewhere. If you are keen on freshly prepared meals using fresh local ingredients, some from the back of the cafe, then stop in and enjoy what they have decided to offer for the fortnight. There is not a huge menu, but we loved all of it. They serve Union Coffee and a great local ale. We had meatballs, a small pizza, bruschetta, a cheese board with mostly local cheeses, apple crumble, beers, and coffee for 3 for less than £60. For breakfast we had avocado toast with fresh eggs, home made granola, more bruschetta and too much coffee (still shaking). It was great to see a group of Middle Age Men in Lycra (MAMILs) there this morning.
The cafe is sparse inside, not filled with unnecessary junk. The small fireplace gave a homey and chilled feel to the place. The chairs are not super comfortable, but certainly adequate.
This cafe is clearly well thought out and the owner is clearly passionate about what they are doing. I hope we can stop by again soon -- gutted that the Cyclist is not close by. Best of luck to them.
