Lovely pub. Nice cozy atmosphere and great ales. Proper pub
I've rated this place before....
But it seems that Google wants more....
I could go there every day"
And for not one moment would it be boring or grey"
Trust me on this it's a must"
It's not just a breath of fresh air it's a GUST!"
opening times, events and food shall follow when I next venture that way"
And many more photos of this pub THE CROWN AND SCEPTRE and surrounding areas of ST MARYCHURCH here in the bay.
Here's a few of the local scenes at night..."
But beware! Misbehave and the pub landlord DAVE might bite!?!!"
Ha ha NO not on your nelly! BUT if you be bad"
Like in ANY respectable drinking establishment it won't be tolerated! So be good,be smart and don't make DAVE mad!!!
To be continued......
A cracking little local pub. Much better since the recent revamp. Nice selection of ales and other drinks.
Excellent 'real pub', haven't been in one like this for a long while. If only we lived closer... Although I'd probably be in there too much.
Popped in on a Thursday afternoon for a quick pint. Apparently this was a top real ale pub before COVID came along.
It seems to have been decorated and renovated before reopening and is now a fairly plain and modern bar.
A choice of three cask beers were available including Butcombe Gold, Dartmoor Jail and a (remarkably unremarkable) Sharp's beer called Sea Fury.
I've been in here many of times with the new own Colin and the last owner. This pub still a great pub. The beer is kept well and it's a pleasant place to have a drink away from that awful torquay town centre. I know alot of this pub has remained the same over the years. However there are alot less ales on offer than what their used to be. This pub is much brighter now that it used to look. This really look like a good old fashioned English pub with lots of character and get a nice bunch of customer in who are friendly but loud lol. This is always a great pub to relax in and is very warming. Try it out and be surprised we'll done Colin for managing the bar so we'll on your own it can't be easy.
Great pub good beers people very friendly and hospital
Fantastic Jazz band playing on Monday nights. Cozy pub, friendly punters and staff. Nice beer garden. Clean toilets. Dogs welcome. Visited whilst on holiday.
