We had a lovely experience. Nice and cosy place to stay. There were so many breakfast choices, we were very impressed with our food, the portions were so big and it was so delicious. Kirstie made us feel so welcome and was so helpful with directions, lovely people, thank you.
We spent one night in this hotel on our way home from Salisbury and stayed in a large, clean and comfortable room. OK so the room is dated and could do with a make-over but the bed was comfortable and the shower was effective and hot but all this is reflected in the price – sometimes people expect too much for what they pay. . The included breakfast was good, with plenty of choice and the waiting staff pleasant and obliging. The price was so reasonable we would stay again if in the area.
Room was spacious and beds were comfortable but toilet had poo left inside and didn’t flush properly. There was only 2 small milk left for 3 people sharing. Bathroom needs cleaning and updating. Guest book and signs on the door say open from 7am we attempted to check out at 7:45 due to an event in Bath at 8:30 we were attending and the place was empty no staff on site to leave a key with no answer on the phone for us to find out what to do with the key, we tried to phone later to speak with someone but to no answer at all.
Good value , decent sized room, was clean and place was welcoming. Bathroom of our room needs a bit of a makeover, but all functioning. Good real ale and food in the pub. Breakfast was very tasty and freshly cooked. |Wee bit of road noise in the morning but otherwise quiet. Plenty of parking.
We booked this hotel for 1 night as it was convenient location and good price. We just arrived and there is no central heating (it is November and it is cold). There are 3 small electric heaters spread in the two bedrooms and one large living area. It is cold! The bathroom is freezing. Also the only toiletry is a hand soap. I asked for the Wi-Fi password at the reception and the lady advised the Wi-Fi is not reaching the rooms. Not sure why the WiFi is advertised if there is no WiFi in the room. ||I think the apparent is not good for a winter stay. I am surprised is is highly rated as well if it doesn't have a WiFi.
Yes the pub is under refurbishment and so not everything is 'done' but we enjoyed our stay very much. Beautiful building with loads of character. Our twin room was spot on, comfortable and clean and situated off the courtyard at the rear of the pub. The bar is lovely and on a cold weekend we enjoyed the log fire. Food was very nice and cooked to order. Our host was friendly and helpful. We will certainly stay at the Crown again and are happy to recommend it to anyone wanting a beautiful place to stay in this area.
It was a very pleasant stay, beds were very comfortable and the space was excellent. It was particularly noisy however with the fans from the pub making noise all through the night which could be heard in our room. However, it was very affordable and we would be happy to stay again. Thanks very much.
We stayed at The Crown Inn for one night in November. The place is super clean. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Loved the whole ambiance. Hosts were very friendly and helped us with all our needs. Had tea/coffee at the onsite pub and were offered complimentary cake too.
