Unfortunately both me and my son had a very badly upset stomachs following eating the same food yesterday in the pub. (Spag bol) I have eaten here before and always been lovely but as we both had the same food I can only assume it’s the common denominator. Lovely pub with lovely staff but sadly this has put me off eating there again.
A fabulous overnight stop in our campervan. We had a very warm welcome from Dylan who looked after us very well. The bar & restaurant was very busy however Dylan’s professionalism as a server made his job appear easy! Our food was served in a timely manner, piping hot and so delicious! The pastry on the vegetable tart was so tasty with added herbs. The gammon steak burger with an egg was very moreish. Now to the sticky toffee pudding with piping hot custard, a decent size portion, thank goodness we shared. NB/ I need to make reference to the person below’s comment ( Angela Black) it was foolish of her to point the finger at The Crown for her & son having upset stomachs from their spag bol. Generally it’s not something you’ve eaten recently that causes an upset. So she ought to not give every eatery she partakes in a bad review! Believe me when I say this is a lovely pub with scrumptious food, & fabulous service from Dylan.
A hidden gem.... dinner for7 today. choice not vast but for a pub the food was really good and excellent value. with friendly prompt service, reasonably priced drinks in an historic building, with log fire in the cosy recreation flagstoned room, bar, and eating room, loads of parking half mile off the sandwich bypass.
Was here for a local funeral, always find this venue a very helpful and friendly no matter what the Occasion. Also find the staff are respectful, especially on days like today.
Such a friendly atmosphere from staff and punters. Amazing food, really good portions and tasty too. Spot on!
Lovely pub. Spacious layout and good pub food. It was pretty empty but then it was a Wednesday so a bit hard to gauge the atmosphere.
Fabulous meal. Hearty and home cooked. Warm welcome and good service. Good value too.
Stayed overnight in motorhome. Had meal in evening and it was certainly 5star well presented and tasted good. Staff were friendly altho a bit cold to sit outside in garden. Only approx 15mins to Dover ferry so a great stopover. Would definitely recommend it and would stay again.
