Stopped here for lunch on a Monday afternoon. |Very friendly staff and cheerful service. |Food was what you expect from spoons. |Would be nice if they cleared tables regularly lots of glasses and plates left on lots of empty tables. |As away a good selection of drinks on offer at very good prices
Despite the recent bad reviews we decided to try the restaurant as it's only a mile to walk from our hotel.
From the outside it looks shabby & certainly could do with some TLC.
The meal was excellent, the manager was trying to do all the serving himself which was nice in a way as it gave us chance for our food to go down between servings.
There was a musty smell around the men's toilets which you have to pass to get to the ladies.
I'd be happy to dine there again.
A fantastic hotel. Didn’t know what to expect as it was a spoons but a really great experience overall. The room was cosy, very clean, comfy, and had great air con. The bathroom and shower was very big and modern. No noise whatsoever from the pub/town, friendly staff, and very easy in and out. The best part of all- they supplied loads of complimentary tea and coffee. Most places only give you enough milk for one cup of tea, whereas they gave you six milks, a variety of tea and coffee, as well as hot chocolate and 2 bottles of water. Good value for money, cheap breakfast downstairs, would definitely stay here again.||The only downfall (if I had to name any) was that I had quite a few stairs to go up and there was only one pillow so I had to get an extra one from the wardrobe. I quite like having several pillows but that is a personal preference!
Fantastic Hotel, centrally located for city touring. Staff excellent, so courteous and extremely helpful. Hotel Manager Emma was so efficient. All staff should be complimented and are a credit to Wetherspoons. Rooms beautifully appointed and comfortable. Lift only in one half of hotel so be sure to ask for lift when booking. Ideal for couples visiting city.
Great big Rooms, clean and everything you need. Plenty of toiletries, tea/coffee etc and bottled water. Air Con kept the room cool and price good. Above Wetherspoons Pub in a pedestrian street, but no noise so a good nights sleep.|Wetherspoons breakfast you pay for but it is the same breakfast you get at every spoons at a great price. We are there before going to the cricket which was a short walk and only 5 mins from the station. Added bonus of cheap beer £2.46 for Doom Bar and bar open until midnight. Excellent stay and will book again.
Only went in for dinner, and it was the worst Indian food I've ever had. Both curries we ordered were supposed to be served on a sizzling dish but they both arrived in a cold bowl and were so salty they were literally inedible. The lemon rice also was so salty we couldn't eat it. The peshwari naan was the only edible thing but it was clearly not made in the kitchen and came from a packet.
When we complained to the FOH manager he was extremely rude and offered us a 20% discount for a load of food we had about 2 mouthfuls of.
Terrible service, terrible atmosphere, would recommend you save your money and dine elsewhere because this was a truly shocking experience. We ended up paying £36 for a few poppadoms and a bit of bread. Oh and the beers were just cans from the fridge put into a pint glass.
Overall the experience was absolutely terrible.
This is a spoons. So if you’re looking for a spoons in Worcester, this is your go to place after the other one closed.||It’s probably towards the ‘old man’ end of the spoons scale but it serves a purpose and obviously the drinks are nice and cheap. ||It’s deceptively large inside and there is usually ample seating available. ||It’s also well located, a short walk from other bars restaurants and shops. An ideal sanctuary if you are being dragged around the shops, and a good place to start a night out. Also offers a wide range of cheap food of varying standard depending what you go for.
The worst experience at a JDW we have ever had.after ordering our food and drinks and paying,I was told the Doombar had run out and the manager would change the barrel and the staff member would bring the drinks in a couple of minutes. 10 minutes later I went to the bar and was told "I will tell him now,and bring the drinks over."After waiting another 10 minutes our meals came, delivered by the manager,we explained about our drinks and was told they had no Doombar,(we settled for alternative drinks)we started to eat only to find my mixed grill and my wife's sirloinsteak meals where both cold (not even warm)as the manager was in the area we told him,he said he would put them in the microwave.WE WERE NOT PLEASED.we cut our losses and said ok.our drinks came.our meals came 10 minutes later and both where hot NEW meals. THANK YOU MR MANAGER,I trust you will speak to your staff.
