Nestled in the picturesque village of Heptonstall, the Cross Inn Pub offers a delightful culinary journey into the heart of Thailand. As a Japanese traveler, I was drawn to this pub , curious to sample it’s Thai dishes.
The moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in a cozy ambiance, with a warm welcome that transcended language barriers. Opting for classic Thai dishes.
Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors and expertly crafted to perfection. From fragrant Pad Thai to spicy Green Curry, every bite was a revelation, transporting me to the bustling streets of Bangkok.
The freshness of the ingredients and the skillful balance of spices spoke volumes about the culinary skills of the chefs. Each dish was a symphony of taste and texture.
In conclusion, my dining experience at the Cross Inn Pub was nothing short of exceptional. For anyone seeking a taste of Thailand in the heart of the English countryside, this hidden gem Is a must
Beautiful location, lovely room with gorgeous bathroom, generous hospitality tray and comfortable bed. It was spotlessly clean and the decor made it feel really individual. The food was great, well-cooked and tasty. The friendly and helpful staff couldn't have been better - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at The Cross Inn. From the moment I entered the building and asked to check in, I was greeted by a very friendly guy working at the bar. He promptly gave me my key and assisted me with my bags up to my room, providing a thorough explanation of everything along the way. Despite the rural location, the Wi-Fi was impressively fast with a great connection, this was great as at work and everywhere else but The Cross Inn I couldn’t find a good connection. The room itself was spotless along with the bathroom that smelt very fresh, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely set of towels, soap, and other products neatly arranged on my bed. The sheets were lovely and clean with the material being very nice, the bed itself and the sheets were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring I slept straight through like a baby throughout my stay.||||Additionally, there were delightful little biscuits, snacks and bottles of water available. I must mention Linda, whose name I hope I'm spelling correctly because she truly stood out as one of the nicest people I've encountered when staying somewhere in a long time. Her positive energy, warm demeanor, and overall hospitality enhanced my experience even further. The same can be said for the guy who I initially met upon arrival and the other lady working at the bar; although I didn't catch her name, her friendly and kind demeanor, along with her distinctive and awesome purple hair, left a lasting impression.||||I was in the area for work, and Linda graciously accommodated my early morning schedule by offering to prepare a full English breakfast before the official breakfast hours. She did not have to do this, but went out of her way to ensure I was on time and had a lovely breakfast. An offer I really appreciated, especially considering how delicious the food turned out to be. While I regret not having the opportunity to try the gorgeous Thai food that I could smell from the kitchen, I can say with certainty that if I ever find myself back in Hebden Bridge/Heptonstall, I will undoubtedly return to The Cross Inn and try everything on the menu.||||The heating in the room worked really well and quickly warmed up the space. Additionally I should mention that guests are provided with a key to their room and a key to the front door of the pub, which closes at 10 pm. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say for this place. Having such a lovely place to stay, coupled with the exceptional service from the staff, just made my work experience even more so enjoyable. I am truly grateful for everything the team at The Cross Inn did to ensure that I had a fantastic stay. Thank you so much I really appreciate everything that you’ve done for me un highly recommend to whom ever may be reading this to pay a visit!||Jack :)
Came here for food the day after pace egg so was happy that they hadn't run out of anything! We were a large party and they were able to accommodate the table for us. Food was amazing! One of our party said it was the best pub food that she'd ever had, and she's tried a lot of different pubs food.
There was a mix up with the dishes that we'd ordered (I'd taken the wrong dish - oops!!) so the chef came down to check that everyone was happy, offered to recook or change the dish, but the party member was happy with just adding some chilli flakes so the chef brought those to us.
It was my second visit, and I'll definitely be back!
Some improvements could be made regarding the furniture and the decor. Needs some updating. However we did enjoy our stay. A very friendly and helpful barman, not sure of his name. Comfortable bed, and the room was big. Lots of choice on the tea tray. Loved the breakfast choice, but could have been hotter. Good coffee. The location pleasant. The hill not for the faint hearted.
We stayed for two nights on January - and overall we enjoyed our stay, room was large and bright with a comfy bed and huge bathroom with a bath. The staff were always friendly and helpful and breakfast was good- yes there is room for improvement but I’m sure they will get there with that- yes would recommend for stay while in the area -
We had the honour of being the first wedding party to take place at the Cross Inn since Gig took over as the owner, and the day was exactly what we wanted - a relaxed and informal wedding in a beautiful location. The courtyard was beautifully decorated and prepared for our wedding celebrations. The food was outstanding and, alongside a large variety of Thai canapes and main dishes, included a couple of special requests from the groom - a full leg of lamb and Vimto trifles for dessert, both of which were absolute perfection. We booked out the accommodation upstairs for friends and family to stay for the weekend and Lyndsey went above and beyond to make sure that they were well looked after and provided a generous breakfast buffet. Thank you so much to Gig, Lyndsey, Jill and all the team at the Cross Inn for going above and beyond to make our day so special and memorable. Many of our friends and family have said it was the best wedding they have ever attended and we couldn't have asked for any more.
Fabulous building and history. It should have been a wonderful visit. Unfortunately it was dirty. And I mean, dirty.|Walking in the welcome wasn't so great, young br staff who didn't know what to do really.|The stairs up to the rooms were dark and very steep. Had to turn my feet sideways to stand on the steps. The carpet was filthy.|The decor is very old and needs a refresh.|The room was OK. Just OK. And that was the best thing about it.|Breakfast was poor. Poor choice, low quality, difficult to get service even though there was no one else present.|Plants in the windows next to the dining tables were full of bugs.|This was not a great experience.|
