Excellent coffee & tea supplemented by delicious coconut cake, huge bacon roll, gluten-free lemon drizzle cake (2 other gf choices available) & toasted teacake. Large portions v welcome. Staff were v patient with our dithering over food!
Lovely decor too.
Lovely place, with a great view of the castle, interesting menu too, very tasty food, and inside decor was lovely.
Limited space inside but if weather is okay then plenty of seating outside with good views of the castle. Lunchtime panini a real treat and lots of choice of freshly made cakes.
First visit there since the new owners have taken over. Very small menu but the panini that we had (bacon, brie and cranberry) was delicious but I think maybe a small side salad and/or crisps would have made it better. My husband rates every venue on the coffee and was very pleased with the coffee he had. Staff were friendly enough although did confuse our order with another table. Would definitely go again. The cakes that were on the counter looked very nice.
Lovely little cafe opposite Pembroke Castle. Limited seating inside during winter but plenty in summer, as outside seating too, next to the Mill pond, opposite the castle. Friendly, clean service with great food and tasty cakes. What more could you want? No I don't own it! Lol!!! Wish I did,
pure gold mine!
Venture upstairs to browse two floors of stylish furniture and interior decor, that would enhance a home. A surprising find, I'd been going to the cafe 3 years before I even knew about upstairs!!
2 years since the above review.
Sadly the cafe changed hands spring 2023. Property taken over by a larger company. Furniture upstairs now replaced with office furniture, closed to the public. It appears the cafe is now owned by an established holiday firm, who own the whole building, and have a couple of established cafes in SW Pembs. Not sure if the cafe is now franchise run but hopefully, since it's first opening last year, it has improved somewhat this year. It's a shame when things change over time but onwards and upwards is the way I guess.
I love this place. First off, the staff are friendly, engaging and look to enjoy their jobs. Second, the coffee is the best I've had in Pembroke so far, and a good variety in syrups. It's well made which brings me to my next point: the staff are well trained. In fact they're currently having a training session whilst I'm sitting here writing this.
Finally whilst I've only had a couple of the food items, the bacon brioche roll is delicious!
I think this place sets the standard in Pembroke.
Sat outside as it's nice overlooking the castle. Ok cup of tea, but in paper cups (never as nice as in a china mug). Cakes had been cleared away at just after 3pm! Then ushered away just after 4pm because they wanted to put the chairs and tables away!
Arrived 16.15 on a Sat. They said "we closed at 4pm". Google hours which they program says 5pm. Come on! 4pm on a Saturday. Had to try to find somewhere else for a tea and coffee.
