Early lunch on a Saturday, 11:00 a.m. We were in the area visiting cemeteries and I had done a bit of research prior to our visit, finding a couple of places that looked good, the Corner Cafe was the first place we came to, so it was the one. As the name implies it's a small town cafe/diner. It is a seat yourself place. At the time it was about half full, so we had no trouble finding a table for 4. I had the Greek omelette hash browns and a side of pancakes. There was also a side of tzatziki sauce. I was torn between the omelette and the breakfast shoe, I decided to a bit out of normal and got the omelette. It had gyro meat, tomatoes, onions and feta cheese. It was very good. There was also a crispy chicken salad with poppyseed dressing and two Reuben sandwiches with fries at the table. I sampled the fries and they were very good. I was told the salad and sandwiches were also very good.
Worth a visit.
Food is mediocre at best, very bland. Service was acceptable, not once was my coffee refilled. Great place for the over 60 year old crowd.
Decided to edit my review after seeing some of the negative Nancy's reviews. If u think their food is expensive or mediocre for the price you're out of your mind and or don't go out to eat much. Generic food products? They use one of the same food distributors that every other establishment uses ???? Their prices are on par with other similar establishments if not cheaper. To the person that said they waited 45 mins for their food.... I've dined here numerous times & I doubt I've ever had to wait 20 minutes. Were u there on a day they were super busy & or understaffed? This place is a gem for Petersburg. If u really want expensive, bland & mediocre food then take your butt down the street to Hardee's.
Friendly service and great hamburger, chicken strip, & breakfast horseshoes every time.
We stopped by after a morning at New Salem Historical Area. Cafe was not too busy and the food was amazing. Great choice. Much nicer than the chain restaurants we passed on the outside of town. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They refilled my water serval times due to the heat outside.
We visit Petersburg often to see family. We go to The Corner Cafe every time we can. It was very disturbing a couple weekends ago. The cook came out screaming at the waitress and slapped her. Apparently, it was his wife. What is disturbing is they are still employed there. Not sure we will be back.
Love this restaurant ..did you change your Hours we won't be able too come anymore .so sad I know Friday you were open later. Sad .know we have too go too Lincoln .I will miss you guys.
Good food, and waitress, nice customers and reasonably priced.
Had the Mexican omelet, a side of hash, and two fluffy warm pancakes. Others had the biscuit and grave and two eggs or the Denver omelet. Delicious all! Took home a piece of luscious pecan pie for my mom. Early breakfast at 8:00 AM, by 8:30 pretty full and hopping with the excellent wait staff. Highly recommend!
