Such a wonderful place to stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Friendly atmosphere with delicious food. We visit here often and are always pleased! Country fried steak with gravy and fried okra are just fantastic!
This is my first time here as I was recommended it by a local. Whenever I’m heading down South or coming back soul food is my go to. I ordered the fried catfish and it was mouth watering! They fried it just right and with some Texas Pete it was out of this world. As for the mac & cheese it was mediocre nothing worth bragging about. My family member did not like the potato salad at all. For the pork chop it was okay they said. All I can say is the place is clean and the fish is bussin! I would come back for the fried catfish.
First time here in over 20 years! The renovations are beautiful. The place is much larger than it appears from the outside. The food, service and atmosphere were outstanding! We’ll be back!
I came here a lot when I was younger. The renovation turned out nice. It was busy for Father's Day but our wait was not long at all. Service was prompt and good, food did not take long at all. Overall enjoyable experience.
I had the grilled rainbow trout, broccoli and a sweet potato. Not sure what the hype over the food is, trout was very over seasoned. So was my husband's shrimp. Bread was definitely store bought rolls wasn't even warm enough to melt the butter. Server was nice and attentive. Was crowded and a bit loud but was seated quickly.
All the food was cooked perfectly. The only thing I would change is the mac, it needed to be a little more creamier. You definitely get a good size portion.
Always excellent food and service. I was in town for the weekend and went to Colonial with family for breakfast. The pancakes were so tasty along with the rest of the meal. The waitress was very attentative and ensured we had enough coffee and beverages. I enjoy going here when I'm in town.
Nice little place to grab breakfast. I would compare it to diner food. The pancakes were exceptionally good! Will come back just for those!
