Called in today for the 1st time as I was killing a bit of time waiting for some tyres on my car to be fitted. So glad I did call in. The food was really nice, the staff were friendly too and the place itself was really nicely presented. I'll definitely be back, and I'll bring the wife next time!! Highly recommended ????
Fantastic breakfast but not for the faint hearted. All freshly prepared and very tasty. First time here excellent service. This is their bunker breakfast certainly set me up for the day.
This place has become a regular haunt for myself and many others- and there's good reason, it has a warm welcoming atmosphere, is immaculately clean and tidy (the staff are super diligent clearing tables etc) the owner/operator clearly has an eye for interior design as it has that fine balance of contemporary without a cold edge and an excellent use of natural materials around the place- particularly the beautiful tables, on top of all that the food is simple, excellent value and well presented, I have a lactose intolerance myself and I'm very well catered for with a great choice of dairy alternatives and I've also noticed that other diataery requirements such as gluten free foods are also available, the milky coffee and the full English breakfast are just a delight, I've only tackled the "Bunker Breakfast" once as it is epic but also a thing of much beauty ???? I also have a sweet tooth and the brownies here are to die for! And WHAT a way to go???? there are also small independent retail units towards the back of the place selling traditional sweets, another selling puzzle books, and I believe one of the units is for "pop-up" entrapanurs wanting to push their fledgling business ideas, this place really is a "people place" it's also important to mention that when the need arrises you will find the cleanest most beautiful toilets (also accessable) in the area!! There IS a huge carpark to the rear of the premises but access is very narrow, ideal for small cars and motorcycles especially- but a wee bit tight for the larger vehicles, right, that's me, hopefully you find this helpful, The Coal Bunker awaits!
I usually visit in the early morning just after opening - the place is clean, staff are friendly and the food is tasty.

We’ve been to The Coal Bunker a few times now and it’s been consistently good! The breakfast is delicious, sausage,bacon and black pudding are really good quality.
The Service is great, everyone is welcoming and there is a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this great café!
One of the few places left in Coalville that you can get a real breakfast, whether you call it fry up food or not, the Coal Bunker is a popular place, so it must be doing right. Also served are salads and other value for money meals which let's face it there are not too many left. It's a friendly place, and service is reasonably fast. What more does anyone require. Recommended
