Cakes are all open to the public walking past them. On the day I was there, everyone's wet clothing was making contact with cakes. Children in queue touching cakes as they were walking past. There needs to be a plastic cover over cake area for health safety and hygiene reasons. Also dirty dogs tennis ball left on table which I moved and put into pot plant by table. I am just suggesting improvements to be made as this is a lovely coffee shop. We did not eat after seeing what was happening at the counter area.
A nice little cafe at Marble Hill, limited seating but more seating opposite and outside. The coffee is good and the food looks fine, but I think they should cover up the cakes and other items as they are left open on the counter.
Good facility and descent choice based on its size. Muffins, cakes, ice cream, coffee, canned gin n tonic, toilet facilities. That was needed for some time and it really helps everyone. There is hiany chess, domino outside. Indoor as well as out door seating. Good facility if you are visiting Marble Hill.
Amazing place to spend a warm summers day. Brilliant customer service especially from a young girl at the till.
Would recommend highly!!!
Very cosy and spacious cafe. Limited selection of the food but good enough for the quick lunch.
Enjoyed my cream tea. Service was friendly and quick.
Underwhelming. Our first visit here. It’s a truly lovely location but the food was poor. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich which was pretty grey and tasteless. Also a meringue which was rock hard and powdery. I was disappointed to find that despite having proper cups we were served our drinks in disposable cups. Not sure why as we were allowed to take China plates to the outside tables? I just think they could do a bit better especially as we managed to spend nearly £30. Not sure I’d rush back. On a positive note it’s a nice place to visit with the dog and they had water bowls outside. The staff were pleasant. I think given this cafe is apparently run by English Heritage they could do better.
Absolutely wonderful place to stop for a tea or coffee & a bit of food - I had the Full English Breakfast Ciabatta at £9.45 & it was absolutely delicious - I would definitely recommend it - IT'S CARD ONLY SALES - NO CASH!!!!!
Had the most awful gluten-free toasted cheese and tomato roll I’ve ever had yesterday. It was barely toasted & seemed to be almost flung together, tasted like a pile of cardboard - truly horrible and disappointing. My friend’s gazpacho soup was similarly unappealing, over-salted and dull in colour, probably out of a tin rather than home made. It was a beautiful day so we didn’t feel like complaining. Luckily we were consoled by the lovely setting and wine……. served in plastic glasses. Won’t be going back there for food.
