Food and service were good. Pricing online is not up to date and portions,,,,,Don't get the clams. Manager said shrimp portions are small too. This was my $10.55 clam order. And I never got my fish I ordered. Very sad as I can see someone is trying to keep this establishment alive. With those portions, they will be closed sooner than later.
So, I stopped going to this place about a year ago, because....they was rude, unprofessional, dirty, unorganized, always on the phone not really caring for you nor caring about the food they was preparing for you.
I have gone in here vary recently. Now the new manager, is so polite and talks to you like your a human being. And she has this place super clean, She Has sped the whole food process up to go, go, go. And she smiles the whole time talking to you. even when she is cleaning up people's trash.
Definitely a recommended place to stop in for a bite. Or two....
Off the beaten trail, but a good find for a weary traveler.
The food was delicious. I had the fish dinner and the batter was on point. And who would have thought a tiny little place would have HOMEMADE mashed potatoes? Delish ????
Coleslaw was from a box, but acceptable. I would recommend for sure!
The food was good and me and my wife would like to do a review on are waitress and the 1 that took care of us was awesome and really sweet and she greeted us like most people are supposed to her name is Sandra Gilbert I think she said or Cassandra she was amazing at everything greeting us when we came in and just really sweet I think most restraunts deserve a employee like her for those of you that wants good customer service and waitress go to chicken shack and ask for Sandra or Cassandra she's a mixed girl who is so sweet and she definitely made me and my wife wanting to go back to chicken shack and also the food was delicious
Without ever having tried the "original" chicken coop recipes, it's really good all things considered. I could probably pass on the shrimp, but the sides and chicken tenders are very good.
The only real issue with the atmosphere would be that the counter-area is/was not decorated and seems weirdly sterile, and the menu was on the floor for some inexplicable reason.
I come this way about once a week. I love stopping here, their fish is so good. Also, there's a grey cat that roams the parking lot, that guy will sit patiently outside your car till you give him a treat. Lol it's great, I look forward to seeing that guy ????
Didn't like having to order a basket instead of Ala cart. The chicken tenders were $3 each and are not much bigger than my thumb!
The service was great as always! The lady working is always so nice and friendly! The food and prices however may have me going someplace else. And yes, I know prices are going up but the price for the tiny little tenders is beyond ridiculous. Very disappointed as we used to like going there.
We went for Valentine's day lunch and split a 2 piece fish dinner. It was absolutely excellent.. one dinner was totally enough for the both of us. We asked if they could cook the fries a little crispy and they accommodated us and the fries were absolutely perfection and no joke we're actually some of the best fries I've had in years. The fish fillets we're fried to absolute perfection they weren't greasy at all I mean not at all they were perfect. The level of the food was way higher caliber than the price. And they don't gouge you on drinks either a small drink is only a dollar49 n free refills so that's cool. I can't say enough good things about the fish or the fries just absolutely delicious. The cornbread was excellent as well wasn't too sweet and wasn't too crumbly and complimented everything else quite nicely. The onion rings we're just done a whole different level from onion rings that you'll have any place else. Basically you'd have to go to a pretty expensive place to get better onion rings than what we got served today because these things were just absolutely flame. Also back to the drinks they had the mix on the drinks was dialed in really nice they weren't chintzy on the syrup. The Coca-Cola tasted like good fountain Coke and the root beer tasted like good fountain root beer not thin and watered down. The house specialty tartare sauce was excellent. We went in not knowing what to expect because we know the owners changed hands recently. And I have to tell you we were really surprised and how excellent it was and we'll definitely be coming back on as regular basis as we can to help support what we think is an excellent local business. The staff was all super friendly and courteous and answered any questions that we had.. if I had any criticism at all I would say it would be to just give a little bit more french fries. Fries are relatively inexpensive and if they gave you even just a quarter as much more as they give you it
would really seem like there was a lot more there was exactly enough but it would have been cool to have just a little more cuz they were really delicious.! The atmosphere is kind of like a weird modernish home I don't know how to describe it other than it's clean and comfortable of note is the cool steel chairs they have they're quite sturdy. It's right off the highway on 131 super easy to find totally try this place out you won't regret it the food is excellent.
