Best KPortal Reviews
The food is mediocre. I've tasted a lot better. The chips tasted like frozen chips.
Don't rely on the listed opening hours.. They seem to close when they feel like it.
There are much better fish & chip shops in the area.
Very nice fish and chips with views of sea and the Ship Inn pub right next to it if you want to grab a pint with your fish and chips. Chips were very crispy and fish portions were good. Service was also prompt.
THE GLUTEN FREE OPTION IS NOT "GLUTEN FREE" IF YOU ARE COELIAC OR NEED TO AVOID CROSS CONTAMINATION!
If the above is you, be careful about ordering food from here. Staff sounded very confident on the gluten free options over the phone, explained there was a seperate fryer etc, so we decided to go here however watching the preparation (very long wait, well over half an hour) I observed them cross contaminating the gluten free food with the utensils they used to dish the food up. Very disappointing considering it could be so easily avoided/rectified. After a very long wait for a manager, they did agree to a refund, but this was done with a very bad attitude from another member of staff, and my concerns about future practices of separating the utensils as to avoid cross contamination appeared to fall on deaf ears. Those of our party who did end up eating due to the long wait and some very hungry children said the fish and chips weren't that great anyway. We won't be back. Shame as the atmosphere and being associated with the pub to be able to grab a nice drink with food could have been nice.
Visited last Friday evening - it was very busy and staff were working flat out but they were still very helpful and polite. I had rung in advance to check gluten free options and was very pleased to find the range available. Between our party of seven, we had haddock (both normal and gluten free batter), cod, scampi and battered sausages plus chips and all were delicious. Lovely to sit outside but under cover, overlooking the sea. We have visited three times before when on holiday in the area and have been very satisfied each time. Very happy to recommend.
I enjoyed GLUTEN FREE cod and chips. Very nice and cooked to perfection.
The only thing that prevented me from giving 5 stars overall was the lack of gluten free vinegar available and the fact that the person who served me really didn't care.
I'm sure the management will sort this out and I shall definitely eat here again ????
Fantastically fresh fish.
Nice chips and the mushy peas were fab
Price was good and served with freshly cooked fish.
Many thanks.
Really delicious chips cooked in veg oil, crispy and not dripping with oil. Lovely. Not the hottest I’ve ever had but certainly not the coldest. The taste and texture made up for that.
Friendly staff directed us to the vegan menu when we asked about the chips, which has a few tasty looking options on. We really just wanted chips this time but would try them another time.
A fabulous end to a perfect trip out to Mundesley. Thank you.
Delicious fish and chips. Good sized portions. Very good gluten free batter on the fish. Extremely busy but staff were doing a brilliant job. Would go again.
