Great location for a lovely old pub. Let's hope it does well, but you might need to get some good ales in to attract customers. I hope you start serving food again. The last time we ate there the food was excellent.
Absolutely stunning views from this icon of a venue. Family friendly inn, very well preserved amongst the ruins of Halton Castle. Enjoyed a function here with 30 people, very cosy but still well above expectations. Well done!

Popped down today for some food, brought the binoculars with the kids, doors where locked but oddly there were people sat inside having a drink, possibly shut down or on the verge?
Either way, no signs up & no one inside bothered to come explain to us or another few couples what was happening!
You can see pretty much 360 degree around the local areas of Cheshire and countryside from up here, there is some great views in the outdoor seating areas and also some walls from the old settlement are still there to look at and walk around. A great place to relax and find out a little history of Runcorn and Halton.
Incredible views! Scenic beer garden! Lovely bar staff ! They let us see round the castle ruins! Amazing time! Will be back
Lovely little walk round. The only issue is you have to go to the pub to go inside the castle but other than that lovely views well recommended
Great service! It has a nice relaxed atmosphere. There are a lot of pics on the walls of Runcorn as it used to be, also about the history of the castle. I haven't eaten here yet. I don't know if they serve food in the evening. They don't do meals on Monday and Tuesday lunch time.Toilets could do with refurbishing and cleaning. Over all it's a nice friendly place to go for a quiet drink. I didn't stay there so I don't know about rooms.
Never actually drank in the pub, but what an amazing beer garden.... it is the actual castle!
