Best KPortal Reviews

The Carpenters Arms is a traditional village pub. There is a wide selection of beers and larger, including two cask conditioned hand pulled, real ales that were in excellent condition when I called in. I didn't have anything to eat when I was there, but the menu looked very tempting, and the food coming out of the kitchen looked fabulous. There's a nice outside seating area and a large car park. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The pub is very dog friendly.
Only popped in for a quick drink when passing but looked like a nice place to eat. A very traditional (bordering on old fashioned)
pub, but nothing wrong with that.
Had a lovely meal here today, the food was delicious and well presented, service was friendly and welcoming in pleasant surroundings. Very good choices on the menu. Can recommend.
Visited with my wife for a beer and to check the place out. Lovely pub that just says come in. We will be booking a meal soon.
Just had dinner here food was lovely service was great and a general lovely atmosphere
Food mixed bag, my mother and law had steak pie and chips which seemed decent but my wife and I had lasagne which is one of the most mediocre I've ever tasted and quite dry.
Another criticism was the fact you could not have your meal outside in the beer garden and had to come inside which was an uncomfortable experience. We would of preferred to sit outside as had our dogs with us, as this was a stop off to our holiday destination.
Our main criticism was the bar maid who was unfriendly, rude and quite frankly lifeless. We felt we were constantly watched and under her scrutinising gaze. Although it was a dog friendly pub, it didn't seem friendly due to the aforementioned bar maid
When we first came into the pub, we asked her where the toilets were and getting a response out of her seemed like a huge inconvenience.
Another lady who worked there was on her break and stood out at the front entrance of pub. She was much more friendly and nice to our dogs. Otherwise there were not many positives and would not return of back in the area.
A lovely welcoming country pub. The beer was excellent and the homemade pie wonderful!!
Absolutely disgusting that the landlady refused to give our friend hot water to make her baby’s bottle - her excuse - ‘we are far too busy.’
Far too busy is no excuse, I’m sure no customer would have begrudged waiting 2 more minutes to get us some hot water. Our friend, 6 months pregnant and with a hungry 10 month old baby, left in tears.
Feeding a baby is a basic human right. I’m completely shocked.
