Best KPortal Reviews

I was cautious after reading some of the reviews on here, but I stayed for 4 nights. My room/bathroom was very clean, nicely stocked with teas and coffees. The bed was comfy, the blackout blind a bonus. Free WiFi which was good as I didn’t have the best signal. The grounds are kept lovely, and I liked that I could sit outside with my cuppa in the morning sun and not have to go down stairs or a lift. All the staff that I interacted with were friendly and helpful. It was also quite easy to get to on public transport, if you ask bus driver nicely they stop directly outside ????
4 of us called in on the off-chance today of having a carvery. We were certainly not disappointed, in actual fact, the complete opposite. The meat and veg were all freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We had more than enough on our plates - at £8 each that was an absolute bargain. Well done The Cardinals Hatt!!
Stayed for 2 Nights, granted the buildings are not architectural masterpieces, however the grounds were very will kept with lovely boarders and a beautiful terrace area.||Check in was easy, and the staff very helpful. We were directed to our room, (which are lodge style with parking outside each room.)||I had booked a standard double, there are budget rooms available also. I found my room although basic was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. A simple request at reception resulted in an iron and ironing board being delivered to our room. The bed was comfortable and the room being well away from the road resulted in a good nights sleep. Additionally the free wifi was of more than adequate speed and was a welcome surprise.||||We dined on one of the 2 evenings and found the food and service to be excellent. Again the decor of the bar is not represented by the exterior of the building. It appears to have been done to a high standard with lovely hard wood floors and large tables ensuring that you are not crammed in with many others.||||In all a great stay and excellent value. Will certainly return when next in the area.
If you just want somewhere to lay your head that is inexpensive then this place is good. Rooms are all external to pub and quite cold and musty smelling. I could not get any heat from the rad so I went to the car and got a hoody. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Hot water took a while to get going but was fine after that. Neither bedside lamp worked.
Food in restaurant was good but be aware they don't serve after 5 on Sunday. I arrived at 8:30 pm and had to find somewhere else to eat after a 300 mile drive.
For what I paid it was good, but not for those wanting a weekend away. I get the impression this place is used mainly during the week by contractors like me.
Have been here on two consecutive Saturday evenings and the food and service could not have been more contrasting.
The first day the staff and food were exceptional .
The second day my wife picked the same meal and it was completely different in presentation and from the description on the menu. Also the staffs enthusiasm was lacking apart from one young man who was very helpful and apologetic for the difference in meal.
Situated in Cornwall near a little place called Hatt. The pub is quite spacious and has a good selection of food. I had a nice carvery There was plenty of it. Service was good I didn't have to wait much at all. Nice clean and lovely style setting in the pub. Also a good selection of drinks. There is also a lot of parking space. And space to sit outside if weather is good. It was a pleasant experience which I will do again. I do reccomend this place for a visit.
Went to The Cardinals Hatt on the off chance to get a roast. We were welcomed by Kerry who was very polite and very helpful. Myself and partner explained we hadnt booked, but were shown to a quiet area in the bar area. Everything seemed spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her team. The carvery was amazing, not only was there loads of food to choose from, but it was absolutuly delicious. Will definitely be going again.
Had a carvery today, which they offer on a Wednesday and Sunday. Nice location with plenty of parking, welcoming and clean premises, very friendly and helpful staff. The food is delicious and good quality, the best carvery I've had. I would certainly recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed.
