The restaurant/pub is set back from the main road, almost opposite the Haven holiday park and has a good location.
The décor is interesting and more old world than modern in the bar area. Dogs are allowed to come in which is good and there is space to settle in.
I'm mainly reviewing the food as that is what we had there. Overall the quality of the food is excellent and chef makes everything from scratch, so don't be in a rush.
As it's made to order, gluten free is offered on most dishes and vegans are well catered for.
Meal prices range from £16 - £30+ for mains and £5 - £10 for starters.
Overall a pleasant visit and the food and chef were the highlight of the evening.
Definitely worth a visit if looking for a evening meal out. ????
Had a family meal here on the last night of our holiday. The food was delicious! Two of our party had the pulled pork and it was reported to be tasty and melt in the mouth succulent. The steak was equally as tender and a good size and cooked very well. One of our party had the chicken in wine and cream sauce and I was told it was very tasty . I had the vegetarian option which was Vegetables in a cream, Marsala sauce. It was absolutely delicious, the vegetables were cooked al dente and the sauce had a gorgeous rich, deep flavour. There was a choice of accompaniments all cooked well. Will definitely be coming back on our next visit.
Had our anniversary dinner here and at first, thought the food was a bit pricey. But believe me, you get what you pay for and then some. Absolutely out of this world. 10/10 to the chef.
The food was amazing! Each dish was prepared with equal amounts of love and pride, and brought to the table by the chef personally, who explained how each dish was prepared, and the ingredients that were used. The food was all home made, from the chips to the tiramisu. My husband and I returned for our meal each night of our stay in New Quay because we were so impressed with the quality and quantity of food served. | All the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend a visit to this establishment, especially if you're a lover of good quality food. Thank you for making our holiday an amazing experience.
We booked a table to eat in the restaurant after viewing the menu online. We turned up we were ushered straight to our table,no chance to look at what was on offer to drink at the bar. Conservatory area was very cold,is in need of an update and a deep clean.|The menu was very limited and wasn't what was shown on the online choices. The chef/owner was about but didn't visit diners as he's been known to. I think he's lost interest in cooking and the running of this place. Food was mediocre. This place is in a prime location with Haven holiday park opposite. What a shame it isn't making the most of the opportunity.
Fantastic Italian chef cooking authentic fresh Italian food and from the menu British favourites too.the pasta was outstanding as was the side of garlic bread. Decor a little dated but don't, don't let that put you off. Fantastic food and friendly service. Dog friendly area too, separate area for you weird dog avoiding people too. Vegetarian and vegan menu available, which we ordered from. Wow!
We went for my birthday treat, the food was excellent, staff were friendly and the lovely chef came out to check everyone was happy. Fantastic meal and very good value, the best food we've had in New Quay all week.
Me and my wife just went for an excellent anniversary meal at The Cambrian. Highly recommend, very friendly attentive staff and the chef came out awards to ask how our meal was, excellent service. We had a three course meal and a bottle of wine and it was very reasonably priced and the food was of a high standard. When we are down in New Quay in the future we will definitely be going back.
