Took our daughter and some of her friends there for some milkshakes but sadly we were left unimpressed. Firstly - only 2 flavours of milkshake available as "chef hadn't placed an order". There was only one person serving and he certainly was not greased lightning. It took an age to get the food/drinks out and despite ordering ice cream, I ended up settling for a milkshake as somehow that part of the order was too complex. All the girls got their food at different times and the orders were not always right (one was put back to be swapped out). When we complained, the member of staff complained back to us that he was on his own - not our fault chum - talk to your manager! Nice enough place and everything tasted okay, however this place clearly needs something done to sort out the dire service. I certainly wont be rushing back.
Went in for something to stave off the hunger pangs and left like a beached whale. If you are ever in the Banchory area and feeling peckish try this place. They don't scrimp on the portions and the venison burger tastes great.
That was then this is regarding today 19th June 2018. Just went to Bus Stop Banchory anticipating another attempt at a venison burger to be hit by disappointment. According to staff Bus Stop has been closed for over a year. It was obvious from the barely passable baked potato that they have lost their kitchen staff. Funny how online it is still posted as being open maybe the web staff followed the kitchen staff to greener pastures??
My wife and I diverted from the usual lunch in the Douglas to try the bus stop. After reading the reviews, I was expecting something incredible. This burger was absolute garbage. The menu is quite limited, you get the choice of ribs, hot dog or burger (with a choice of toppings). In my head, I'm thinking this is like Five Guys, which is similiar menu size, but recently voted the best burger in USA (for good reason). What I got was blatently a previously frozen burger. I could barely tell there was any meat in this sandwhich. A dry, chewy 1/2 a centimeter width of scab. The brioche bun was stale too. My wife had a hot dog. This was blatently from a jar. In a french baguette (from one of those multipacks you can pick up in a supermarket). £20 for a meal that cost around £2 to make. A handful of mince and some seasoning is all you need for a half decent burger! Service was good though and gutted to see there was another part of the hotel serving different food!
The Bus Stop Closed Over A year ago. Food is now in the bar next door! Wish I knew this before going in all I got was a microwaved part warmed baked potato. The crisps as part of the side salad were delicious!!
Fantastic. Great service, lovely people and gorgeous food. Nothing was too much trouble for the people who work there.
