Went for drinks on Friday with a friend and found the pub really welcoming, cosy and so many different areas to sit down. The interior is of a really modern standard, but still in keeping with the building/pub.
Great staff who were working so hard, yet still making time to chat customers.
Looking forward to going back with family for food.
Really impressed. Wishing you all success.
Our local is back thank goodness. Lovely pint and lovely atmosphere in a local pub. I can't wait to try out the food on our next visit.
Went to the Bull.last Tuesday following a recommendation by a friend. It is a pub we used to visit a lot some years ago but when the regular landlords retired the replacement management was poor resulting in us abandoning our visits.
However, on meeting the new licensee Nial and his staff we had a great welcome and a nice meal. The ambiance is back to how it used to be, and an added incentive is that the Bull opens at 10.30am and serves breakfasts. All in all a pleasing to find we can return to a nice pub as good as it used to be.
I went with my partner the other week nice place and lovely bowl of chips. We decided to go for a Sunday Roast. So sorry to say the beef was red and tough so I could only eat the veg which was not that brill. I was told they only cook the beef medium rare but that is not for everyone, offered a free drink because I said how I feel as asked could they do something as cut the price down. I think if that's the way you cook it place it on the menu that's how you cook it ,not everyone likes it red and bloody . I have been to other places and the beef was cooked to perfection, some even asked how I liked my beef before I ordered . Maybe you should let customers know .
Me and a group of my associates ate here after hearing good things about it. We weren't disappointed. The food was amazing and the waiter could not have been faulted. The atmosphere was nice in a new room I believe had only just been opened and we all had a good night. I would definitely recommend anyone going here. Great work guys!!
The choice of food was disappointing. There wasn't a lot left available on the menu as they are in the process of changing to the summer menu. That said, the service was excellent, and they were very apologetic and upgraded our steaks for free. The food was very good, and steaks cooked to perfection ????. I don't think the word has gotten around enough yet that they are open again as there was a lack of customers in the bar, which made it very quiet. We would go back and try it again when the new menu is in place.
My girlfriend and I took her sons to the Bull for Sunday lunch, it was superb! The roast was such that none of us could manage a pudding! Next time? The staff were friendly and efficient. Let's hope Ollie and his team go from strength to strength!!
We chose this newly reopened local pub for lunch on Valentine’s Day. The interior has been transformed and is stunning already and much more to come from the what the welcoming staff told us . We took a look round and everywhere looked wonderful especially the tired old function room which was now a smart restaurant but could still be hired as a private room. Beers looked to be a great selection including one from a local brewery Goachers, we both enjoyed the zero alcohol cider which was refreshing. Our table was well presented with rose petals and tea lights for the day in question and was a pleasant surprise at lunchtime. So onto the food having a choice of 3 menus we ordered the baked Camembert sharer which was excellent the sea salt was a great addition and there was lots of lovely toasted bread . For mains my wife chose the pork belly and I the lamb rump cooked nice and rare both were amazing in flavour and portion size was good too. For desert my wife selected the rhubarb and red currant crumble and I had the cheeseboard. I was very impressed by this and had forgotten how good a Kentish blue cheese can be. In summary we were made welcome in a clean but cozy atmosphere, the food was excellent and great value. We would have paid much more for much lesser quality food and drinks . It was busy and we liked that as it gave the place a good vibe, they clearly welcome children and dogs; which is nice. The landlord came over and introduced himself and checked everything was good, which it was and spoke about the plans for the future including the outside area, which they plan to develop for the coming seasons. It’s great to see a pub rise from the ashes of the past problems and you really get a sense that Ollie and his staff, have a vision for it at the centre of the community and they deserve to succeed based on what we experienced even in the early days of its revival. Thank you very much!
