Best KPortal Reviews

Lovely quaint place with home cooking and lots of choices to eat. Very busy, even on a quiet shopping day. Managed to buy a few quirky gifts there too. Friendly and welcoming staff, excellent service.
It is very much recommended. Had a lovely blueberry, banana, and flax seed smoothie here with a lemon scone and lemon curd. Pretty restaurant/ tea room alongside the river in Horncastle with an attractive frontage. 2 floors of gifts inside and seating on the ground floor. Good menu of hot drinks, milkshakes, and smoothies with a selection of panninis, baguettes, sandwiches, afternoon tea, cakes, and specials. Also, we ordered a tuna sandwich, which was well presented and gvfm at 4.95. Prices aren't extortionate, just good food and drink in a comfortable place.
11th April visit was a mixed review. The young lady who served us today was a lovely character and extremely good at her job. The food and service was very good and good value for money. However, when paying for the bill the young lady correctly went through our bill at checkout on what we had, but the owner/manager (50s man) spoke very disreptrully saying to her ' no need to do that it's obviously right'. You belittled the young lady and sounded like a right bully. I hope this young lady finds a place to work that deserves her and not someone who is disrespectful and a bully. Shame on you. Well handled young lady! Sorry you had to put up with that.
Went for lunch ordered 2 Panninis and a baguettes. Bacon was rock hard and too thick. The whole Salad was brown and floppy some parts of the lettuce were actually black! The Brie baguette made me feel sick the iced coffee was mostly froth and had to be sent back. Waiting ages for food for it to all look mouldy. Event he coleslaw was horrible. Ordered a ham sandwich for my son who loves ham and even he left his the ham was mostly white mushy fat and the bread looked stale. Smelt mouldy. Wouldn’t recommend this cafe to anyone what a waste of £35. A meal deal from Tesco would have been better !
Love this place! Great food and service! Nice GF options too! Only thing I will say is at busy times it can be a little "cramped" but that cannot be helped with the size/style of place. Great nic naks there and just such a cute quirky place!
P.s. if you're GF try their brownie! It's delicious!!
Lovely little cafe. The girls serving us were very nice and attentive. The food was lovely but as a vegan it would be nice to have more choices
So ordered an ice late and got a glass full of froth, a BLT the bacon was rock hard, the ham sandwich for our baby grandson just fat and smelt off, the side salad was dead, brown lettuce and the purple leafs were black, food absolutely dreadful,
I used to be a regular until one day, i went in about half an hour before closing, just for a pot of tea. Was given a very cold reception bythe chef, not shown a table and was told before I even said what I would like, that there was no food. I said I just wanted a drink. Told no, he wasn't going to be bothered making me a pot of tea. Not been back since and won't ever go back again.
