My partner and I visited the restaurant in January for my birthday and it was fantastic from start to finish. The menu had a great variety of dishes on it and the ones we chose couldn't have been better! The presentation and flavours were amazing. The staff are friendly and efficient without pestering you. The venue itself is beautiful. I thought the price was extremely good value too, especially compared to restaurants of a similar standard in larger towns and cities.
An absolutely fantastic Anniversary meal in amazing surroundings.
Excellent service from attentive and friendly staff.
Delicious food and drinks.
Thank you so much for an incredible evening.
Had the best Sunday lunch here today. Fantastic location and restaurant, food unbelievable. Service second to none. Recommend anyone to try this restaurant.
Just came back from the most amazing three night stay at The Bosk. It ended up being the most memorable weekend of my life as my partner of 16 years asked me to marry him by the lake.
STAFF: I have to say a special thank you to all the staff at The Bosk that went above and beyond in making it so magical. Jess helped my fiancé coordinate an amazing proposal. I came back to a fully decorated room with mood lighting and music playing. To top it off they asked my favourite desert and chef Mat had made it specially. (Tiramisu....To die for). Tony and Imogen were also great and treated us so well. It was also lovely to meet Peter on the last day and thank him for such a great time.
ACCOMMODATION: We stayed in the "bilberry" room. The bed was so comfortable and all furnishings were top quality. The bath and shower room is added luxury. You get given robes and can use the pool, a lovely hot tub, steam room and sauna. There is also a gym that we didn't use.
ACTIVITIES: We visited while it was quite cold but there is lots of outdoor activities and cant wait to come back with our children. We took lots of walks and even managed to get up east hill in front of the Bosk. We spent an evening playing pool, air hockey and fooseball and another night playing board games and listening to music.
FOOD: We had breakfast every morning included which came with fresh fruit , juices, coffee and a yogurt compote plus something from their menu (full English, eggs Benedict etc). We are still drooling over the black pudding. The quality of produce is very apparent in all their food. We also had pizza on pizza night....they make it fresh and cook it on a real pizza oven outside! On another night we had the normal menu and once again was wowed by the food.
This place really has thought of it all and are on hand for anything you need. This place is truly a gem. We can wait to come back with the kids and stay in one of the cottages.
Thank you all so much!!!!

We (5 friends) have just had the most fabulous steaks and steak and ale pie at The Bosk, best we have had, starters were great and we even managed some ice cream, wonderful service from Jess and her staff. Lovely atmosphere we will be back.
Second excellent meal here. This time was a spectacular Sunday lunch. Really lovely roast local beef. Great well priced wine list too. All in a lovely space with nice friendly staff. Recommended.
We stayed at the Bosk for a few nights and it was absolutely amazing. We stayed in the Coltsfoot room which was so comfortable and the shower facilities were fantastic. Plenty to offer at the Bosk with Spa leisure facilities including an indoor pool, steam room sauna and jacuzzi along side tennis courts and a nice walking route around the lake. Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had, the Big Bosk breakfast with coffee |/tea and fresh juices. The gentleman who served us (I’m sure his name was Tony) was really accommodating and nice and always made sure we were good and if we needed anything for our rooms but also help if we were going out around Northumberland. We ate out in Alnwick and Shilbottle on the 2 nights we stayed but had we stayed longer we would have ate at the Bosk restaurant, the food looked fantastic and smelled delicious. Can’t wait to return in the near future and couldn’t recommend the Bosk enough. Thank you so much.
Fabulous Sunday lunch - lost count of how many different vegetables there were and beautifully presented
