Great atmosphere and food was amazing, must try the deep fried Calamari and pulled pork Bao buns, and the new curry and burger did the trick. Well done team
Been visiting the marina village for years and always thoroughly enjoyed The Boathouse as a close by convenient and nice place to visit for food & drinks. Usually eat there 2 evenings out of a weeks visit to the marina.
BUT……… upon our recent visit which was the first in a year the lovely cozy ambience of The Restaurant has been totally spoiled by poor choice of lighting, the lights are too bright and are a very cold white compared to the old warm white lighting - and silly little table lights (cold white again) have replaced cozy candles previously.
Food and service still great (beer & lager choice a bit limited but no big deal) but what we looked forward to being a cozy atmosphere and ambience was instead like sitting in a works canteen and we did not return and will not return until the lighting is warmed up and turned down.
I know it’s daft and pedantic but for the sake of £100 worth of warm white (3500 kelvin) lightbulbs and returning to the tea candles on the table I will sadly not return on our next visit (of which we have 2 further visits booked for 2024)….
Whoever chose the new lights need to have a serious rethink.
As it is such a nice place to eat/drink and so convenient for guests at the marina - I would be happy to buy replacement bulbs before my next visit if that’s what it takes !
Please take this on board and turn the boathouse from a works canteen feel back to cozy atmospheric nice space to enjoy a meal !!!!

Beautiful food. Had an evening meal and went back for breakfast the following morning.
We have just had a lovely meal here. Been in 4 times this week and everything is spot on. We can't praise the staff and the service and food enough. I would highly recommend coming in here for a meal or 4. Everything is perfect. Staff so helpful and polite. We are here for another week so will be definitely eating here again. The prices are good and they don't serve short measures. Very enjoyable. Superb service.

Good food, friendly staff, nice restaurant.
Table service could have been quicker. A table was loaded with used crocks and glasses which sat there for a long time.
