What a lively buzzing friendly pub! We had a campervan stopover and a great evening in the Blue Dog. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Great chats with local people by the log burner. Burger night was a good selection (including veggie) and really nicely done. We'll be back.
Fantastic little gem in the village! The new owners, Martin & Nikki, have already made some drastic improvements with promise to make more in the near future. Great beer and great food. Hugely recommend this pub.
Very warm cozy place. The owners are always around to make sure everyone is sorted. You won't need a coat in the winter though as it's always nice and warm

This has recently changed hands, (10/23) with the new owners looking to add a new food menu along with a possible reinstatement of the previously successful beer and cider festival.
This pub is a disgrace. I have not been in this pub for years and çertainly not since new owner have had it. Today a great freind of mine family had his wake at this pub. I went in to the bar and was about to ask for a pint and was told by landlord Simon you are not getting a drink here you are barred. I àsked him why and he didn't know. So embarrassed about this didn't want to make a deal of this but without an explanation to why I was barred, unreal they are not what they seem stay clear. Face fits ect.
The pub is under new management, and the changes are simply brilliant. The decor and furnishings really nice and the beers superbly kept and served. At the time of my visit the kitchen was closed but I will return as soon as possible to sample the fare on offer. A wonderful little gem of a proper pub.
