Best KPortal Reviews

Lovely place. We ordered our food and it was quickly served. The meal was very tasty and hot until the last bite. Reasonable priced too. Staff were very friendly.
We popped in for lunch today with our dog and were made most welcome by the lovely lady at the bar. We enjoyed liver and bacon and the vegetable curry served with a pot of tea for two, just what we needed on a cold winter's day. Both meals were served piping hot as was the tea and they arrived quickly. The bill came to £22.70 in total which we thought was really good value. The pub was very busy and we thought that the two ladies serving at the bar were most efficient and worked really hard. We would have no hesitation in recommending this place to others.
Visited on a lunchtime a couple of weeks ago. Not been here for a number of years and the place is even better than i remember.
I was assisted by the landlady to get the wheelchair in. Once in the place was easy to navigate.
Drinks including real ales are really well kept and reasonably priced and the food is amazing. I had a liver and bacon dish with a thick onion gravy with steamed vegetables which looked and tasted beautiful. Unfortunately no room for a dessert.
Very tasteful Xmad decorations and great staff make this a must return to place
I have been going to this pub for a few months now, with my partner and his mum, they have been going for a few years. It has always been a nice place to go, never had any issues BUT today we were served by SAMANTHA ( A middle aged lady with blonde ponytail).
Now I am Black and my partner and his mum are white. This has NEVER been an issue before but today was different. This Samantha seemed to have an issue with me from the minute I sat down. I ignored it at first but then when she served our food to the table my partner got " here you go sir, Large fish and Chips" and my plate got placed down without a word. I have NEVER had that type of service in this pub But due to this I will not be returning.
The manager had a word with her and she came out and said something to my partner about issues at home and said NOTHING to me. That to me shows that she is a Racist and should not work in that type of environment.
We were there about a fortnight ago when things were beginning to relax a wee bit in the hospitality trade.  Those who have made the effort to comply as best they can deserve one's custom and respect ... The Black Bull in Wetherby can count itself well in the ring of those who are making a difference. No need to drag it out, they just had their finger on every button ... and I would recommend them all day long.  The Best Gammon Steak Platter I have ever eaten and a bargain in anyone's book.  My good lady had what looked to be a first class omelette too.  We were very satisfied with the staff, cleanliness, and value for one's buck ... Try it for yourself if you happen to be in town.
Update Summer Solstice 2021.
When you're in the absolute centre of one of Northern England's busiest wee horse-racing???? towns, and you're hungry for lunch but care not to be ripped-off, fobbed-off or just disappointed ... and the town you're in is always-busy-but -very-nice Wetherby, then I recommend you dine at the famous Black Bull pub where you'll find exactly what you're looking for.  The right food in a right Yorkshire venue and staff at their most wonderful and cheerful disposition.  The Steak & Ale Pie I had was the best I have tasted outside Scotland; my wife had Haddock & Chips with Real Mushy Peas; and yet another unsought dish containing Broccoli, Carrots and Caullie were gleefully demolished and washed down with two halves of lager.  We went on to share an absurdly fine Tiramisu Dish with Fresh Berries and Ice Ceeam. This tidy, clean and well-managed pub provides service with a smile, a menu more than adequate, and a bill of some  twenty-four quid. Hurry there, find your chair and taste the fare at this great place.
Clean pub, Great food, good portions and fab service. Didn’t wait too long for food and expectations were set by the bar staff as they were very busy. We were not disapppinted when it arrived.
If "Sunday Roast" makes your mouth water, then this is the place for you. Today turned off A1(M) for lunch in Wetherby. Arrived just in time to grab the last free table, around 1230. Lots of locals. Pork roast with sage & onion stuffing and crackling, roast potatoes, mash and vegetables. Generous serving but smaller portions if you require. Then sherry trifle. Everything exactly as it should be. Bliss! And all for about £18 ph including a soft drink. So much better than motorway services.
Took my Dad there today for his 80th birthday lunch with some of our family and his friends. Dinner was lovely everybody really enjoyed it and the bar staff, kitchen staff and owner are just all fabulous! They went out of their way to make it lovely for my dad and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you soooo much and we will be seeing you again ❤
