We stumbled across The Bistro one evening whilst on a canal holiday. Chef Vaughan greeted us at the door and was very attentive. Although The Bistro may not look like much from the street, the food was excellent, and the menu very well thought out. You can tell that the chef has a passion for his art. I would whole-heartedly recommend a visit to anyone in the area of Devises.
Fantastic lunch yesterday, best wrap ever, my partner had a beautiful trio of fish, all excellent! Top service, warm, friendly and nothing too much trouble. Back next week!
We have been coming to the Bistro at least once a month for the past few years- every visit is a delight, we have never had a bad experience and every new meal is a discovery and delight of flavours and textures and places around the world. Visiting chefs make for special weeks and they also offer cooking classes and catering- my favourite place to visit !!
Located at little Brittox, The Bistro is headed by Chef Peter Vaughan, whose enthusiasm and passion for food is apparent in the dishes he delivers. The Bistro is a central, small and well-known local restaurant serving 'naturally balanced' dishes with local ingredients where possible. Last month, the menu theme was New Zealand, inspired by the new chef from NZ. The service and food were impeccable and being served by Peter was truly an honour. Delicious food that comes from the heart! Recommended!
We ate here on a Tuesday night, extraordinarily having the place to ourselves. Chef Peter Vaughan told us about the menu and ingredients, painting word pictures to match the flavors. What a treat we had!
We loved our wraps today and Poppy had somewhere to rest. Wonderful food and lovely people. Thank you for looking after us much love Dylan and Poppy from poppyspicnic.co.uk makers of raw dog food !
Sorry to see from the website that Bistro will be closing on 1/9/18 so owners can concentrate on other business interests. To have such an outstanding food experience in the high street in Devizes has been a pleasure. Good luck to them for the future.
(So get there soon and taste what you will be missing!)
Very nice food. The only problem was the Prosecco being charged by the small bottle, and served by the glass, which was 25cl less than we were paying for. Apart from that, a worthwhile place to eat.
