Tried to get a call back this morning waited 40 minutes on the phone gave up when I hadn’t even reached the top thirty, tried this afternoon held on for 1hour 52 minutes, was told no appointments, ring back later, there might be a cancellation HA! , or fill in E consult which then tells you to ring up and speak to a doctor I told the receptionist I needed something to help me through a procedure I was having next week, talked to me like I was stupid (please listen if you record your calls) I got very upset on the phone couldn’t have cared less.
Whatever is happening to this surgery obviously taken on too many patients!
It is linked to the Artesian health centre so do not attend the wrong one. Not signed up to the NHS patient booking online system which is very poor. Seem to prefer phone consultations (this was pre Corona)
Called in first thing 8am and got through 20 minutes later where the receptionist was able to schedule me for an urgent appointment in the afternoon. The receptionist was efficient if a bit brusque with people (a reality of the ever-growing queue), but went out of her way to communicate clearly and caringly with a man who was speech-impaired in front of me and ensure he had his appointment details written down. Waiting room was a bit chaotic. The doctor saw me on time, was perfectly kind, took care to listen to my full story of the presenting issues, and while she wasn't able to get at the root of my problem on the day, she did all she could to make sure I took the next steps, made follow-up appointments. Overall, while the experience was far from serene, staff were incredibly efficient and effective.
2 weeks been without relevant medication ! Put in repeat prescription two weeks ago to be given three different prescriptions none with the medication requested . I have had no kidney tablets and I have kidney failure tried to leave me without insulin . They are the worst doctors in South London and should be shut down ! 1 doctor on call for the whe surgery some days incompetent staff and have literally put me in hospital as a result of their negligence .Tried to contact the practice manager via email and call yet she doesn't even bother returning call .
I posted a very negative review on here about a year ago and have decided to update my review now. Unfortunately not a lot has changed????. I called for an appointment yesterday but nothing is available until a month's time. Have seen many different doctors at this practice now and I must say that the vast majority are knowledgeable and sympathetic. Its just not easy to get to see one! It can be a bit hit and miss with reception staff. I do understand that they are under a lot of pressure but so are people in most jobs nowadays. It's the duty of a receptionist to be welcoming, polite and helpful to each and every person that walks through the door, no matter how stressed they are and unfortunately this is not always the case. Irritatation and stress is often present in both the faces and tone of reception staff. Overall this surgery still has plenty of room for improvement.
I've been a patient here for 15 years and while it's true that there are long waits for pre-booked appointments, I've never had a problem getting an 'on the day' appointment - but that does involve getting up early and joining a queue when the surgery opens its doors at 08:00 (the queue normally starts to form before 07:30!). I don't bother trying to phone for an 'on the day appointment. In the past some of the receptionists have had a bit of attitude - I think it's pot luck who you get and if they're having a bad day. Personally I've always found the doctors to be thorough and empathtic (I usually see a different doctor each time). So I don't recognise some of the comments that have been made.
You currently have completely under-resourced reception who are becoming increasingly unhelpful and slow to respond. I now spend on average an hour on the phone to make an appointment or request a call, or queue for an hour in the morning to stand a chance of getting a same day appointment. And a single call back opportunity from a doctor when you are working full time or looking after children is poor service in the extreme.
If I was able to move practices I would, but you run everything within a reasonable distance of home.
Weeks and weeks wait to see a doctor. If you want to see your chosen doctor we are talking months!
The telephone booking line does not work, the online one does not work either. The receptionist told me to just come in at 8 and get an appointment for the same day. Today the doctor told me off for doing so....it is supposed to be for emergency appointments only.
I have Lways been very healthy but not getting any younger and recently had a few problems.....VERY SCARY!!!
