Stood in doorway by takeaway order area, away from restaurant area as had dog, was about to order Pre-determined food request to minimise time in doorway. Immediately greeted with ‘get your dog out’. To clarify was not restaurant. Did not even get opportunity to explain I’d be happy to quickly order and return. This bearing in mind we’ve been staying in Tetbury and dog has been in local pubs/cafes. Rude, abrupt, arrogant. A simple “sorry but” would of been sufficient.
We ordered chicken pasanda, tikka and prawn korma. Awful, one big plate of slop. Tiny prawns floating in sauce, no onions or anything else. Live locally but won't return. Charlie Bighams from the supermarket was much better. Avoid
very disappointed! ordered for myself and my partner, the curry’s were 80% water, the chicken was solid, the onion bhajis were burnt and they gave us the wrong naan!! my partner is now being sick from the kormas we ate. avoid!!!
Hands down the WORST food I have ever attempted to eat in my life. Looked and smelled like vomit. Honestly a pathetic attempt at cooking. What's more infuriating is they must know it. My partner ordered at the restaurant and brought it home for us to eat. As soon as we started dishing up, the absence of quality was obvious. We had a taste of everything and felt immediately sick. The korma was watery, gritty, anaemic and bland, the 'king prawn' balti was like chewing balls of rubber in tomato soup and oil. What's worse is we immediately called up to complain and get a refund.. and they closed early. They obviously knew it was awful and probably didn't want the hassle. But this is not over.
I would give minus stars if I could. Where's Gordon Ramsay when you need him..
Very nice Indian food. The dining area appears small but it easily held a party of 15 and a party of 12 and still had some tables for addition customers. The food was great, everyone was more than satisfied with the quality and quantity of each dish (not swimming in oil).
The restaurant is not licenced to sell alcohol however customers can bring their own with the restaurant supplying the glasses (and Cork screw if required).
All in all good food, good service and a very pleasant evening.
Takeaway option, no dining in option on the night I called in . My Balti chicken tikka was bland, lacking any depth of flavours. I asked for a single chopped green chilli as an afterthought, but that was £0.50 extra.
I’d give the meal overall a 3.5 if I’m being honest, but I’ll rate 4 instead of a 3. They unfortunately don’t serve chips, they do some sort of potato though. Onion rice was nice, as was the pakora. Chicken Balti was decent, nothing major though. The chicken was nice, but the actual curry/sauce there wasn’t much of. Very friendly guy at the door who served too
It's not your typical Indian restaurant. It's quite small, the walls are very plain, painted magnolia, with few decorations, so very basic. There was no music playing in the background either, so not the ambiance you usually get in an Indian restaurant. But the place was full (it was on a Wednesday) so obviously a popular place to go.
The food was very nice, the service was good. You bring your own wine or beer so it makes it a relatively cheap evening. No frills, but if you're going purely for the food you won't be disappointed.
