Best KPortal Reviews

Fabulous meal great service great beer, lovely pudding.
Made to feel very welcome by Mary Beth.
Pub under new owners so if this is the start expect it will be busy.
Great dining experience
Lovely little pub, even have games to play. They didn't have what my little boy wanted so the lady went above and beyond to do something for him which he loved- probably more than what he originally wanted! Would definitely go back there again, great experience and great food
Well Carol who manages this delight of a pub could not have been more hospitable.. two wet people an two very wet dogs..!! We got free dog treats blankets and very good wine .. we will definitely be back thank you Carol xx
Went for food this week as we were staying close by on the canal for a night. I have to be honest, on first impressions I was not sure what it would be like, especially when the barmaid explained they had a limited menu at the moment.
We're not overly fussy eaters though and are always happy to try everything, everywhere and give anywhere a fair chance.
The reduced menu was simple but offered enough of a choice of a snack, main meal, burger, fish and chips etc.
We had a cheese and bacon and burger and scampi and chips. Based on the food we ordered I can honestly say it was one of the best pub meals we have had. Really really good chips, probably the best I have had in a pub, the burger was juicy with lots of flavour, as were the onion rings and scampi.
I'm not sure reading the other reviews if the pub has recently been taken over. I mean sure it needs a little doing up here and there and the garden could be much better and made better use of, but hopefully these things are in hand. With the loss of trade with Covid and now lack of money around it will take time, but if we're passing again in the future we will definitely pop in to see and eat again.
Came here today for a family meal for 5 and I have to say we had one of the best Sunday Roasts in a long time.
Food was exemplary as was the customer service. The young red haired lady is a credit to the hospitality industry.
I have no criticism which for me demonstrates just how good this establishment is.
One word 'Respect'
Our local pub has just exploded with fantastic food and hospitality. New landlords have transformed the place both with decor, quality of food, beer and atmosphere. We have eaten and had takeaways and everything is brilliant, if you haven't tried it yet please give it a go.
Did stay but have been buying takeaways from them since lock down. They are a god send and provide the most delicious meals from an ample menu. Service is with a smile and we are never disappointed. We feel so lucky to have such a brilliant food service on our doorstep
Absolutely love the village pub now!! Great landlord, even better beer and an even better atmosphere. Tim the new landlord is a great personality behind the bar and his staff are absolutely great............. 5 stars all the way :) And Milo and Indie the pub dogs are always there to welcome you with a big wag of their tails and a warm welcome
