We visited The Bees Knees on 22.03.24 What a gem of a place, great friendly atmosphere, lovely staff and the landlord such a lovely bloke, one of the best we have ever come across. We both had the steak and ale pie which was delicious, the meat was so tender and it was very tasty. I followed with apple crumble which was lovely the only downside being I was too full to finish it. So compliments to the chef. Thankyou for such a lovely meal and your hospitality. Nice proper pub, friendly welcome, and good service.
I had a steak and ale pie my wife had a surf and turf.
Both meals were very filling, and we did not have room for a pudding
Great pub with a lovely atmosphere.
Deceptively spacious with a bar room, 2 separate dining rooms and a beer garden.
Came as 2 adults and 3 kids, they were very accommodating and the food was loved by all.
Lovely team, especially Libby, Michelle and the landlord himself!

Had a lovely experience here. The people behind the bar are so friendly and made me feel welcomed. We booked a table for two. And ordered vegan cheesy garlic bread to start which was surprised they had and it was tasty. For mains I got the large fish and chips and was shocked to see how big it was, but was a good quality food and great batter. Was impressed with myself that I was able to finish it. My partner had a vegan lentil pie which was also lovely flavour. Props to the chef for great tasting food. However, I do think there should be more options for non meat eaters, like more fish options as there was only fish and scampi. And could do with more vegan options instead of just one, plus a proper vegan dessert.

Nice pub in Retford. We had booked room for large gathering in evening. Nice drink selection, with lots of local beers and friendly staff.
Food was relatively tasty, though quite filling with large portions. Chips in particular were great - proper chunky chippy chips! Was nice that bar ran competition during evening to predict rugby score, which made match quite enticing.
Parking spaces on site bit limited but plenty available on street-side. Great place to come overall if in Retford!
Outstanding staff, friendly and attentive. Good value Sunday roast with plenty of veg trimmings. Good ales on offer. A good spot.
This pub is just amazing. It was really friendly and welcoming. Great real ale, fantastic range of own Gins and the food is home cooked, and traditional using local igredients. Can't fault it.
