Best KPortal Reviews

Ruined my holiday.
Way too expensive for some fried potatoes. Thought the quality might justify the price, but alas I was wrong, awful. Fish seemed a little funky too.
The staff were rude and blunt. I asked for salt and vinegar but I only taste salt (they lied).
Only come here if you want to have a bad day…
We weren’t allowed to sit in to eat because, and a quote “plates and cutlery and it’s a different price”. I’ve just paid £25 for fish and chips, is that not enough to sit down and eat for ten minutes?
also 60p for sauce is just plain evil
I'm only a chip eater, but some of the best chips I've ever had. And ten per cent of me is made of chips. Very friendly service, place looks really clean. And it's just a couple of hundred yards away from Beer beach, so - weather permitting - you can dawdle on down and eat them there (pebbly beach though, and watch out for seagulls).
Friendly efficient service. We had Hake and chips which was freshly cooked. Batter crispy and fish flakey. Plenty of chips. Great value at £8.50.
Quite possibly the best fish and chips we've had in years, from anywhere! Brilliant!
Everything was perfectly cooked and flavoured and not greasy.
From our family member who lives in Seaton, it seems to be in summer when the shop struggles, and possibly where the bad reviews are from. We visited in early April just before the local Easter holidays, and it was quick service but all freshly cooked - even though we were ordering lots of food for 6 people!
Not taking card is the only bad thing.
At almost £9 for a cod it is dearer than back home in Surrey by a few pound.
Fantastic fish and champion chips
My family visited the chippie to buy a takeaway on a busy Saturday evening. The queue was long, which we took as a good sign, but it moved really quickly. A member of staff was taking orders from people in the queue and our food was ready just as we got to the counter. My husband and I both had haddock and chips. There were more than enough chips to share with our daughter to go with her chicken nuggets. The fish was beautifully cooked in a light batter and completely boneless. The haddock was £7.20 a portion which is a lot more than we're used to paying at home but we really enjoyed eating our holiday treat sitting above the beach by the RNLI shop.
The use of frozen items on the menu are priced high (fishcakes, fish fingers, nuggets..etc.. ) .. the chips aren't anything wonderful.... they're not crispy on the outside or fluffy on the inside... Just soggy and stodgy. Cod was fine, nothing to write home about.
Also, staff weren't friendly - ignored kids (not family friendly) and generally just seemed irriated.
Not much other choice for fish and chips though unless you go to the pub, which is far better and the staff are also nice.
Excellent haddock and hake, the haddock freshly cooked to order. Very good chips crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. Reasonable prices, comparable to similar establishments elsewhere. Friendly service. I’d go back for more.
Was really impressed with food and I'm not a fan of fish and chips as I've usually been very disappointed, but not tonight. Fabulous.
