Great pub which is struggling to find customers after a period of closure. We visited on a Sunday, at lunchtime. The staff were welcoming, there were plenty of available tables and a good selection on the menu. Food was served quickly and was delicious. Portion sizes are sensible and the dishes were pleasing to the eye.
I hope this pub gets the custom it deserves as it should be much more popular. We will definitely visit again.
First time at The Beech Tree for a meal. Most of the Menu was not available... ???? Not a good first impression. Need to cater better and be able to offer what's on the Menu. Food not warm enough when arrived and very slow service, too. I hope you can improve, as this would be very local for us. ???? Very pleasant staff, though.
I had the two meat roast, beef and lamb, that's one slice of each, half of each slice was fat for £20 I was very disappointed.
I can't fault the kids chicken and chips
Nice relaxed pub in a great spot between Totteridge & Hazlemere. The staff were nice and genuinely helpful. Has a nice conservatory for dining. It's neither too big or too small inside. I'm looking forward to a sunny day on the front lawn. Currently putting on a few events to be involved in the community after re-opening.
This used to be our local, favourite family pub. What happened to you? Went in for a drink this evening, unwelcoming, moody and rude staff member. If you don't have the beer in question, here's an idea turn the label around. Asked about what gins you had, was told in a moody way "they're down there". Told you were closing at 8.30 as you were quiet, well you're going to be quiet with service like that. Kitchen only open Thursday- Sunday. Maybe put this on your website. Drinks very expensive. Had one drink and left to a pub that was actually serving food, busy and welcoming with friendly and polite staff. Won't be going back.
The bottomless bubbles brunch is definitely worth it! Great atmosphere and the staff are lovely. Definitely worth it. Will be back again! Thank you! ????
The weather is picking up now, but in the winter it has been horrendous to park and walk as so muddy and flooded. Maybe could use these months to resurface it to make it a better functioning car park?
Also quiz nights are great, maybe some money prizes - add on a raffle? And sometimes difficult to hear if you are in the conservatory
The pub looks very inviting from the outside, the inside is smart, comfortable, and cosy on a cold night. Although the open fire sadly wasn't lit yesterday, there is one near the bar. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and great to chat with.
Neither my wife nor I are big drinkers, so we primarily went to eat. The menu contains a good selection and includes vegetarian and also vegan dishes. We ordered our starters and mains and were impressed with the quality of the food. The ingredients were fresh, and the food was delicious, with generous portions (quite rare these days). We enjoyed it so much that we even ordered dessert which we don't normally do. Again, that was delicious, too.
We’ll definitely be back again soon.
