The Bay Horse is a traditional community village pub. There is a good range of beers and lagers in including three hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The real ales were in top condition when I visited. I was even offered a taster when I was struggling to decide which to try. The pub has traditional bar games, a pool table, and a dartboard, and there were TVs showing sport. I visited with my dog and was made very welcome. The landlady even gave my dog some biscuits. Outside seating at the front and a beer garden behind the pub. It is not often I give a pub five stars, but this pub definitely deserves it. It's a great pub, highly recommended.
A quiet Bank Holiday early afternoon trip it was for my first return to this pub in 25 years. Gets quite busy on an evening apparently. From what I can tell it’s still under the same management and all kept well, clean and tidy. Sitting on benches out the front is a great people watching position
The bar staff were amazing!! There needs to be a way to tip via card! Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Not enough craft ales on, so we found ways to drink what was there.
A few of our group (10 of us) had the cider , some had lager and lime, a couple of port and Guinness's, a gin and tonic and another couple was on vodka & coke.
There was an excellent selection of soft drinks including coca cola in bottles. A good selection of spirits and of snacks! We enjoyed the warm pork scratchings.
There's a pool table, an arcade table, a juke box and something called mushroom mayhem.
We were originally told by the other pub in Stamford that we could go to 'the rowdy pub down the street' when we bawked at his insistence we couldn't use a coupon.
The other pub is okay but we really enjoyed The Bay Horse. It's not 'rowdy'. The Bay Horse is a friendly pub, full of friendly and nice people. It's not quiet, because people are being sociable and laughing etc.
Thank you so much for being so lovely and accommodating!
Excellent boozer, good service and the locals are always great company, busy whenever ive visited when passing through stamford bridge.
Friendly traditional pub very ???? friendly good place to stop for a good drink enjoy
Stamford Bridge's sports pub.
Great for watching sport and regularly has live music and other events. Very friendly and welcoming pub, modern Tvs for sport on one side and a quiet country pub feel with log fire on the other.
Good selection of beers, snacks, spirits and soft drinks. It's dog friendly inside and also has a beer garden.
Sadly the chippy next door has shut (but is apparently reopening soon), one of the best things about the village was people having F&Cs and a pint on the grass banks in summer. Will be great to have that back again.
Excellent, lovely, cozy, friendly pub lookimg forward to going back ...
Great spot to people watch through the square, busy on sporting events, nice beer garden at the rear and table and benches at the front, also wall to sit on by the steps, you have a choice of fish and chips, Indian, Chinese and Kebab/ pizza establishments all within reach, also well stocked Co-Op in the square.
