This is my local, so you'll have to allow for a little bias. I've seen this place under four different management teams (over a twenty year period), and it's always been amazing. It looks like the original concept of a "public house", a red brick building, part of which is for the public to enjoy.
All staff are really friendly to locals and strangers alike. The food is absolutely top quality. Pizzas are prepared and cooked by hand with your choice from the usual toppings. The curries are a particular favourite of ours because the spices are perfect - I think John has a secret recipe. No hassle getting one with chicken for me, one veggie for Sooz. There's a selection of real ales and ciders, some local and some from further afield, plus wine and the usual spirits.

Living in a very community central place, I know how newbies can take a while to be excepted at the local pub, but WOW. The bar lady was so lovely and everyone welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we catered for, for every need. Ended up having a lovely late night chat with everyone there over a pint! Massive massive thank you to the lovely lady behind the bar, I hope you enjoy retirement, you're an absolute star
Decent pub, nice drinks when I have ordered them there.
Also would Neighborhood Plan meeting there again.

5 stars are not enough, should be 10. Discussed moving to Barton St David but agreed that as the pub is so good we would end up alkies LOL
Great pub, been locals for a long time but first time visiting. Didn't disappoint.
Lovely village pub. Small menu, which is great , had a lovely Caribbean curry. Authentic flavours and lovely presentation. Will be returning????
