Cracking independent café in a lovely historic village. Good selection of lunches, teas, breakfast, snacks and meals at reasonable prices. Friendly and welcoming staff. Building has lots of character. Park outside or car park close by.
Friendly staff and nice rooms. The food was good, and the portions were large. They were busy when we arrived around 13.00, and ours was the only empty table. We were advised there would be a delay. Vegans, vegetarians, and dairy free customers are catered for. The menu was varied and is as has already been shared in a photo. Food is cooked to order. There was a good selection of coffees, teas and cakes.
We were lucky to find a parking space, the last one, on the road outside. If you need a toilet, you seem to need to use the public across the road.
The place seemed to be frequented by regulars/locals. Overall, I would recommend and would call again if in the area.
If you are visiting Benenden Hospital, it's probably less than 10 minutes away, and they said they did takeaways. People were certainly taking away portions of cake!
Beautiful quaint village cafe - pleasant Alice in wonderland feel to it. English breakfast was fabulous. Took two bits of cake home for parents as looked delicious. Definitely be back. Lovely welcome too.
A really lovely place. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food is freshly cooked and tasty. It’s usually busy so best to book and there can be a wait for the food to come out. But it’s worth waiting for. The cake is amazing too. They also do their bit for the environment
Small, cute cafe. Good selection of food and amazing looking cakes. Booked a table in advance, luckily some of the party couldn't make it because the table reserved for us would have been far too small to fit us all. But lovely nevertheless
We only had coffee so I can't comment on the food. The cafe was very busy, with every inside table full. We were asked to sit outside which was fine, however, there was a lack of seating for the number of people who were out there. The staff were super friendly, mega busy but polite and attentive. It's worth a visit if you're in the area.
This was our first time at the Bakehouse and definitely won't be the last. The food was amazing, freshly prepared and served with a smile ????????. Elegant style, quaint Village feel with great ambience. 10/10
What a lovely little gem. Such friendly staff and very accommodating with the menu. The Tea Room looks fantastic, so do the home made cakes. Can highly recommend this lovely little gem. We'll worth the visit. We'll definitely be back. X
