The Guinness is very good here and the young girl even puts a shamrock on the top!
Zero percent Guinness is also available if you are riding or driving to Burnham.
We only had a meal here as were staying elsewhere in Burnham. I think it's a younger persons pub with quite loud music (we're 70+) but the food was very good and reasonably priced.
I recently dined at The Anchor Hotel, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The first thing that caught my attention was the outstanding fish and chips they served. The batter was perfectly crispy, and the fish inside was tender and flavorful. It was definitely one of the best fish and chips I have had in a long time.
The customer service at The Anchor Hotel was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations. The waitstaff was prompt in taking orders and ensuring that all our needs were met throughout the meal. It was evident that they genuinely cared about providing a pleasant dining experience for their customers.
Another aspect that impressed me was the reasonable pricing. Despite the high quality of the food and the excellent service, the prices at The Anchor Hotel were quite affordable. It was refreshing to find a restaurant that offers such value for money without compromising on taste or service.
Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favor that day. It was cloudy, and we were unable to enjoy the outdoor seating area and the beautiful view that I had heard so much about. However, I believe that the ambiance of The Anchor Hotel would be even more captivating on a sunny day.
In conclusion, The Anchor Hotel exceeded my expectations with its delicious fish and chips, excellent customer service, and reasonable prices. While the weather may have dampened the experience slightly, I would still highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience.
Had lunch here the other week, scampi and chips, was very nice, had a cider too. Lovely.
Comical, was sitting opposite the pub on a wooden bench near the sea wall eating fish and chips with my brother, we was asked to move as they own the tables, my advice is to put a laminated card down, we considered having lunch and drinks in there later in the week but after that no thanks. Enjoy your empty wooden tables..... Maybe get better customer skills....
We booked the hotel for location near a wedding at Creeksea Place. Excellent value and we just needed a place to crash. Excellent value and for the price we were very impressed.||We asked to book in early, just collect our keys, and arrived just as they opened. Our room was ready and we were able to get our luggage in. Very warm welcome. Room was comfortable (room 3) nice en-suite, with all we need. Toiletries and towels all there. Very clean. Remember it is an old building so the floors are quirky, which I think gives it character.||It is a working pub, so while it is open there is noise outside, but this is a quite riverside town and all ended at a reasonable time. Then very quiet, with the clock tower marking the quarter hour. There was some noise when the hotel air conditioning started up occasionally but this just made a background hum and was no problem. ||The room had a tv and plentiful supply of tea/coffee/biscuits in the room. ||Delivery for the pub on Friday, so there was some noise, but not an unreasonable hour (7.30am) in the morning. A very good breakfast, cooked fresh for us, with all we needed. Makes such a nice change from the kept warm buffets you often get at hotels. There is a nice breakfast area, looking out at the quay, where the ferry runs from and you can take trips to see the seals etc. There is a large bar area and a nice restaurant with windows to the front. ||A great location in the town, on the front, with ample parking at the rear of the hotel. All the local attractions on your doorstep. I would definitely stay again.
Visited this pub a few times when walking around Burnham - food is brilliant and great value and service extremely helpful - also very dog friendly, water bowls available for outside tables
Good honest accommodation at a reasonable price. Pub can be a bit noisy, but then you are staying above a pub. Dog friendly and friendly management and staff. Great full English breakfast. All served up in a characterful pub in a great location. Brief revisit for a drink only, 11/04/22, seems business as usual.
