Lovely home cooked Roast dinner and home cooked Apple Crumble. I would highly recommend this pub. Very friendly, family run pub and ample car park at the side/back. I look forward to my next visit.
I've given 4 stars for atmosphere because it wasn't completely full at the time of our visit.
Fantastic little old-school pub. Landlady was welcoming. As was her gorgeous side kick dog. Beer was good. Would be a happy drunk if this were my local.
For the record, I'm not a drunk but would happily descend into the abyss for a local like the Albert.
5 of us called in this lunch time 03/04/2024. This is a real Pub run by real friendly people, this is not a McDonald's with a bar. It is a warm friendly pub with excellent food cooked by the landlord himself who makes a fantastic job of it, just make sure you are hungry as the portions are generous. We will be going back and next time I will remember to take photo's of the excellent food.
Good local pub .. not commercial .. friendly landlord cooks simple traditional food himself with great portions and well presented and tasty. Met here with my son as an alternative to service stations on the M1. A good call. Will come again

Lovely service and lovely food. Perfect for this who want food coming off the M1, friendly people there too. Definitely recommend!

We were travelling through the area and wanted to grab some lunch. I looked on Google and saw the Albert inn had 4 stars so presumed it would be pretty decent.
We arrived and we ordered drinks. The barman was friendly enough to be fair. He said they were still serving food so we took a seat. I knew as soon as I saw a Pukka pie on the menu that we would not be getting home cooked food here!
We both ordered small fish and chips at £8.95. When it arrived it was just looked like a frozen findus fish and some frozen chips! I ate some of it .. but quite frankly I wouldn’t serve this kind of food at home so to come out for lunch and be served it was beyond disappointing.
Thankfully we are not from the area so will never be returning!
