Grew up in Barton and came back to visit after about fifteen years. The first thing I wanted was fish and chips. I used to come to this chippy as a kid, and though it’s changed owners I reckon this beats everything I’ve had in London and the south and then anything all over the world. The haddock was fresh and tasty, the batter airy and crispy, the chips perfection, but the biggest surprise was the curry. It’s proper homemade Indian dal sabzi! I haven’t tasted anything so good outside India, and my wife’s from Delhi so I have some experience. What a completely amazing surprise. Super friendly service too. Made me happy.
Chips are absolutely horrible after hearing all the reviews about this place I had to go and seams rather there fake or just a bad day the lady behind the counter was really nice but some of the worst chips I have tasted. It seams like they’re oil is to hot as the chips are hard but burnt not a very good experience but will try again as it seams to have some great reviews
Really amazing place, the owner Val has been in the fish and chip business for over 22 years which shows in the deliciousness of the fish and chips. We ordered haddock with chips and the portions and flavor did not disappoint us. We also tried the pea and curry with the fosh and it added more flavor to the meal. Will definetly come back. Mrs. Val was very nice and welcoming.
I love Taz's, the fish & chips are invariably beautifully cooked, it's friendly service and I simply like it.

Not one for sharing bad reviews but came here after seeing all the good reviews. All I can say is they must be having a bad day, worse chips I've ever had and the fish tasted like it had been out all day
Amazing food! Haven’t had fish and chips this nice in a while. Shop owner was also very sweet, apparently been in the business for a while and it definitely shows.
Had to travel all the way to Barton to find one of the better fish and chips dishes I've ever had - fresh, crispy, hot and sizzling. ..and the chips, homemade cut, chunky and so comforting...
