Ignore my review below(although it was true at the time of posting ) these are seriously good fish and chips!!! Lovely cod and tasty chips at a reasonable price.
Beware of free spring rolls, this usually means something you have ordered is faulty. This is generally a good meal but occasionally falls short.
Great fish and chips - never had a problem with the quality of the food.
BUT the wait time is dreadful. I have waited for over 30 minutes for my order to be cooked (on more than one occasion) and that is just too long. Sadly will have to find another Fish & Chip shop.
Good quality and reasonable prices. Impressive given the cost of everything right now. Portion sizes sufficient too.
Having moved away from the immediate vicinity some while ago it has been about 3 years since I visited the fish bar-it used to be generally good with soggy chips I recall. I was in the area at teatime and ordered cod and chips from them.
Cod was fabulous-unlike many chip shops this fish was mainly meat rather than batter -great stuff.
Service was to order which is fine and the people were friendly enough.
Packaging was fine and neat enough.
So, the chips? Oh dear -still very soggy -somewhat greasy and sticking together in the paper-you know the sort. If they could get that right, it would be 5 stars, but it would be at least another 3 years until I go again, I would imagine.
Nice fish and chips, however the wait times are now absolutely ridiculous.
During covid they brought in a bleeper system to avoid people standing in the shop together. However this system is still in place and it it painstakingly slow.
25 mins for cod and chips, sausage and chips and chips, they must have done the curry sauce when I placed the order as it was cold when I got home.
Previously I ordered by telephone and was told to collect at a specific time, I arrived 5 mins later to ensure the order would be ready. When I asked they hadn’t even started the order and wanted me to wait with the bleeper….. I refused and the fryer did the order for me and apologised for it not being ready.
Last night I heard another couple complaining because they had been waiting for over 20 minutes for their food.
They also do a delivery service through just eat or similar, this seems to hold up the shop patrons.
I once went in for a portion of chips and was offered the bleeper to wait, I declined and went elsewhere.
Such a shame as before covid the guy who ran it before was great, no king waits, always happy and friendly, he’d always give you extra sausage or spring rolls etc even if you hadn’t ordered it.
Haven't had fish & chips for a long time ,daughter in law picked up five cod & chips ,one Friday night ,on the way to ours . Really enjoyed them , all freshly cooked and fresh ingredients ,reminded me of Moneys Reepham Road , from years gone by .
The best fish & chips in Norfolk highly recommended, always polite and courteous
5 star
Great fish and chips and always a friendly service even if they are really busy. Must admit to it being one of the best in the area and when we’ve used when friends visiting they also say the same. Worth the wait if they are busy. Enjoy!
