Visited for breakfast. Had a lovely time.
Place is lovely, immaculate and airy and lots booths and space between tables. Service was excellent. Kid friendly. Extensive breakfast menu and we all enjoyed our choices.
Will be back for afternoon coffee and cake as the baking loomed delicious. We were too full after breakfast to sample any.
Booked table for 1pm. By time we ordered at 1.20pm there was no baked potatoes left ( which is one of the main items on menu). 4 out of 6 meals never arrived. 2 of the ones that did were wrong! Service staff were lovely and apologetic but until they sort the kitchen out, I would avoid!
Had a really lovely lunch at The View Restaurant here today! It has only been open 3 days and they have done so well!
Lots of friendly staff all eager to please. The menu has a wide range of breakfast items, wraps, paninis, baked potatoes, home made soup etc and has a gluten free menu too.
We tried both of today’s homemade soups, sweet potato and chilli and the cream of cauliflower and both were very tasty. My Dad’s chicken and bacon wrap was the best he’s ever had apparently! Lots of yummy cakes and tray bakes to choose from… the strawberry tarts were lovely and huge!
It is beautifully decorated and going forward it will have an outdoor seating area too to enjoy the fantastic view over the farmland and Ayrshire Coast.

Accessible for disabled people and a beautiful disabled toilet too.
Would highly recommend this family business and we will definitely be back soon.

Unfortunately, I ordered baked potatoes from takeaway but after 45 minute wait potatoes were hard and almost raw inside. Strawberry tarts - filling inside was hard although the strawberries and biscuit base was nice.
Yummy Sunday lunch with my Daughter. Friendly, attentive staff, lovely environment and great quality food. All the best for the future success of the View.
lovely view and a beautiful looking cafe with friendly staff. Ordered a ham and cheese panini which was so dry, not enough cheese and no butter which meant we were choking it down. Large cappuccino is tiny and to charge the same price as other places do for large coffees is wild considering it’s half the size if not less. When asked about the sizes we were told “it’s italian”, as a trained barista with several years experience i’ve never heard of this in my life and the cappuccino was 90% foam. I think I have bigger teacups in my house. Ordered a mars crispy cake to go which was dry and stale, tasted no caramel just old chocolate. Overall I really wouldn’t rush back, may just be teething issues at the moment and could be better further down the line but we were very disappointed.
One of the tastiest breakfast’s I’ve ever had was cooked beautifully and was really really filling. Also a shoutout to Lynn she’s absolutely incredible she’s very kind, talkative, mindful, caring and overall a star ????. If Down in pretswick, Ayr definitely worth a visit ????. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Visited the Monktonhill Reßtaurant on the secònd day òf opening. The food was excellent I had à pòrtìon of Hadďock anď chips which was delìcìòùs accompanied by a Càpacino coffeè and two crèam cakès to take home. The dècòr is moderñ and furnishings are fresh and the staff were very helpful. Altoģèther a verý plèasant experience. I wìll be back soon.
