This establishment embodies the perfect concept of “shellfish to go” and is a must-visit for anyone traveling this scenic route. Upon our arrival, we indulged in the delectable crab and lobster rolls, and they exceeded all expectations. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with the sweetness of the shellfish harmonizing perfectly with the zing of the sweet chili sauce. It was a culinary masterpiece that tantalized the taste buds and left us craving more. What truly elevated this experience was the setting. We sat on a charming bench, surrounded by the serene beauty of Dunbeath, indulging in our seafood treasures while taking in the tranquil atmosphere. It was a moment to savor not just the food but the entire experience, etching unforgettable memories into our journey along the NC500. Lovely food here. I got the lobster roll with seafood sauce. The lady there told me her husband catches the lobsters out front. Nice little break to on the nc500. To have a look at the harbour and the white faraway castle in the distance. Highly recommend
A real family business. Lobsters and crabs fished right off the coast by the man. Prepped in the evening and amazing lobster and crab rolls sold by the woman in during the day. We had a great lunch snack here during our hike. The location right at the harbor is wonderful and the lady was super friendly and helpful!
Amazing. Just amazing. Really friendly owner and the freshest sea food I have ever had. Really beautiful location also. The lady running this delightful establishment is really friendly and has lots of useful helpful information about the area. We really enjoyed our stop and will be back. Finally we can't have dairy and that was fine they catered for us with our dietary requirements.
Fabulous dressed crab, fresh as fresh can be and very friendly service form the lady owner. I will be doing my best to manage to pass nearby again this week so that I can have more!!!
Really friendly lady, delicious local caught crab and lobster, with a pot of sweet chilli sauce. They also sell the usual tuck shop treats: crisps and soft drinks. I found the lobster goes well with a squeeze of lemon and citrus IPA from 'The Orkney Brewery' I happen to have. Nice views too across the harbour, and public toilets open.
Must stop for a lobster or crab roll for lunch. Saw the great reviews and made the miniscule detour of the nc500 to pass by here. It did not dissapoint. Owner couldnt have been friendlier and the lobster couldnt have been fresher. We went back for an extra roll after finishing the first ones on a nearby bench overlooking the water. Do yourself a favour and drop by.
Stopped for lunch on the way down from Whaligoe a few months ago.
The freshest Partan ever, served by a lovely lady, whose husband has his creels at the harbour.
If you are passing through Dunbeath, pull off the A9 and drive down to the Bonnie wee harbour and get some lunch here.
There are toilets nearby, picnic benches and a lovely view of the castle.
