Traditional locals wet-led pub (no food). Real ale orientated. Friendly, cosy front bar, comfortable lounge to the rear. Immaculate. Run by same family for over 30 years.
My sister, who lives in Morpeth brought me here twice.. The staff and the local’s were all very friendly and the pub has a welcoming atmosphere. I Had 2 pints of Landlord which was divine . I shall definitely come here again.
We are a group of 20 walkers who organised a walk followed by a buffet at the Tap & Spile. The buffet was excellent and value for money. The staff as always were welcoming and friendly, giving us excellent service. The pub also has a good variety of beers on tap.
In a quiet nook in Historic Morpeth I discovered a clever spot known well by locals. Friendly and cozy the atmosphere quickly transformed with the Magpies in action on Saturday afternoon. Needless to say the energy was lively as I enjoyed a sample of cask ales. The welcoming staff even offered a charge for my flagging mobile! Yet another plus as I search Morpeth for more treasure.
Smashing real pub, 5 cask ales on offer. Take my advice and avoid the mainstream Doombar/Robinsons/Wainwrights and be rewarded by supporting the independent breweries ????
