You gotta check out this badass ice cream joint, Swirl, man! It might be a bit on the smaller side, but let me tell ya, those homemade ice creams they're slingin' are freakin' awesome! I mean, seriously, they're like a taste explosion in your mouth. Just one little thing though, they gotta get that matcha flavor goin' on, you know what I'm saying? Like, come on, that green goodness needs to be in the lineup! ????????
Extremely good soft serve ice cream (think Mr Whippy but a bit more elegant, and I love Mr Whippy) - definitely far better than what you'd find from an ice cream van!
The slushie cocktails we tried (pina colada and aperol spritz) were absolutely incredible.
Our dog also very much enjoyed the doggie ice cream (which is dairy and gluten free).
The only thing that I'd mention is that it was all fairly pricey (just under £30 for two ice cream soft serve tubs, two cocktail slushies and a doggie ice cream), but when a beer is pushing £6 in the area, it feels like that's just the going rate nearby. I would definitely say it was worth the price though.
It was whippy ice cream with a few toppings but not worth the £5+ price tag! And especially since the actual thing is about a quarter of the size of the picture out front. I would much rather use the other lovely ice cream places such as the one attached to the arcade on the front
Lovely selection, including frozen cocktails. It was hard to chose, but lovely toppings on both and friendly service.
Great idea with the range of different sundaes with numerous toppings, but both me and my husband agreed they weren't worth £5.50. I had the cloud 9 and there wasn't even popping candy on it, they were just coloured bits of candy. Nice as a treat, but we've had more ice cream in a cone elsewhere.
For all the people who wrote reviews on the high price of this ice cream, you are right, you should probably just go to Tesco and buy yourself a tub of manufactured ice cream and enjoy, because no one understands the hard work and dedication that goes into making homemade ice cream. Nor do they understand that any shop also has overheads such as rent and wages to pay. Anywhere in the world you are more likely to pay more than what swirl charges and I hear people complaining that £5.50 is too much for an ice cream with toppings?! I live in Monaco and you can even get an 1 ice cream scoop for less that £4. So please if you feel that this ice cream is too expensive for you to part with £5.50 don’t go to swirl but don’t post comments about how expensive the ice cream is. You’d pay less money for a dessert at an English pub.
What a little gem of an ice cream parlour - something a little different, we found it hard to choose. Can highly recommend the Gone Bananas! and the Mint-based one (sorry, can't remember its name!) . Mrs J also loved the Froza, alcoholic vodka based frozen cocktail. The service was so friendly and welcoming despite them being really busy on the sunny bank holiday we went. Do pop in and try this place. Another young independent local business trying hard to make its way - and doing a brilliant job of it!! Wonderful!!
Wow! £10 for one squirt of ice cream with strawberry sauce and for a ‘sundae’ that was effectively whipped ice cream covered in a handful of crushed nuts!! Very very expensive for mediocre ice cream. Seems suspicious that all the other 5 star ratings are from accounts that have only ever placed one review.
