Turned up in a group of 12 on one of the hottest days of the year. Ordered our food which turned up at the table promptly and all together so no one had to wait. We had a couple of fussy eaters and their meals were perfect and exactly as ordered. Very good value and excellent tasting. Could not recommend highly enough. Awesome A++++
Booked a table for five and, on arrival had a very friendly welcome. We were shown to our table immediately by a friendly waitress.
There wasn't any delay in coming to the table to take the drink order which allowed us time to peruse the menu. We actually knew what we wanted because we had looked at the comprehensive Web site.
The food was fantastic and, for some of us, too much. The desserts were lovely too.
A reasonably priced menu too.
As we live locally, we will certainly be going back.
The only negative point was having to run the gauntlet of smokers standing by the main entrance.
Lovely room hired for our wedding reception. They are very helpful and accommodating when changing up the buffet menu. We danced the night away with ease.
We usually eat here too which is also amazing. Love the Sunday roast.
Would definitely recommend if you're wanting an intimate event
A good place to get a bite to eat after a paddle on the river as I did or when enjoying the river from the bank (but please take your litter with you unlike so many others). The service at the pub was quick and the food was tasty, well presented and a reasonable price. If I'm honest the staff could have been a little more friendly but perhaps I caught them on a bad day. There is a nice outside area with well maintained play equipment for small children and cover from the elements for some seats. I will definately visit again.
Absolutely spot on with their social distancing/restrictions and access in & out.(Even though some chose to ignore it and one commenting "its ridiculous".)
In my opinion it was very well marked out and not to much hassle.
The food was delicious all 7 of us enjoyed our meals.
Best dressed Crab I've ever had, along with delicious potatoe salad.
Staff were all lovely and friendly too.
Looking forward to more meals out there.
Have eaten there twice recently on Steak night, food and service has been excellent. However the pop music on the sound system was annoying and got louder later on. Seems out of character with the lovely traditional pub atmosphere.
4.5 stars. Just keep on going back, good staff, great food, lovely place to spend time. Menus on the small side but all perfectly formed. Big beer garden, ample parking, river on its doorstep what more can you ask for
A nice, traditional country pub in a scenic location by the river. Food was good and service was decent. Menu was rather small, but that's usually a good sign as it means the quality is higher.
