Been here 3 times already and the food is always fresh tasty and authentic. Staff is also very friendly and the restaurant has really lovely Japanese decor makes it feel like you’re actually eating in Japan. Best Japanese food in Lancaster

The food was largely great and served quickly, the Sushi was fresh although the ebi Fry filling was warm (fried prawn), our least favourite dishes were the Gyoza and Takoyoki, however would recommend the seaweed salad, Sushi and Unagi Don. Our only negative was that the lemonade never arrived and we only realised once we left! Otherwise friendly staff, nice venue, although small with a nice atmosphere.

A hidden gem in Slip Inn Lane with high food quality at an unbeatable price. The pan fried egg (mentaiko tamagoyaki) with creamy crab seed is a delight but the main spotlight should be on the matcha products. The matcha latte with flavour far richer than any other you can have in Lancashire. And the matcha basque cheesecake is the best item on the menu with creamy texture and rich matcha flavour. More importantly, it is not too sweet which you will never feel guilty having one after one. Unfortunately, it was consumed before photo taking so you have to try it yourself.

When I first time came to try this Japanese restaurant, the Tamago sushi was lacked of egg flavour. However, when I tried this restaurant for the second time today, I found that the owner had made some changes, the Mentaiko Tamagoyaki tastes exactly like what you can eat in Japan, and the set C it is also a very authentic Japanese flavour.

Here are the comments from my first try.

Matcha latte taste very very bland, with almost no matcha flavour. Tamago sushi also lacked of egg flavour. Unagi was so soft and glutinous that it only becomes delicious thanks to the teriyaki sauce. However, the matcha basque cheesecake is so delicious that it’s worth visiting this restaurant again and again. Overall, the meals at this restaurant were not exactly authentic Japanese food.

This gyoza is an age gyoza (deep fried), not yaki gyoza. I prefer the yaki one, but this age gyoza is so great. It’s hard to find a good age gyoza. However, I’m quite disappointed to the premium sashimi don, rice is almost tasteless, the raw fish are just ok, not the high-quality ones. However, Matcha Basque Cheesecake is great! Still not perfect I guess, but I enjoyed eating it.

The food here is honestly amazing. It’s in a really nice, out of the way location, while still being central, and the atmosphere inside is great. The staff are all very polite and the prices are very fair. I’m so happy a place like this opened in Lancaster and I would recommend it to anyone.

The sushi was fantastic and fresh! The staff was very friendly. However I didn't expect the food for sit in to be served in disposable dishes and cups. The miso soup felt like it was made from instant product and not home made.

It’s my second time getting take out from this new Japanese sushi restaurant in Lancaster. I can say this is the best and freshest sushi I have ever had in the UK. I love the scallop and Unagi so so so much. The Takoyaki is exactly the same as what I had in Japan. Will definitely come again.
